OOTD 30/12/11.. ♥

This is my outfit that I wore today. It's one of my favs :) So its all old season. I wore this outfit when I went for a spot of shopping in Milton Keynes. I love the big chunky cardi as its great for keeping warm in the winter, but I love wearing it over my little summer dress. I like the crochet deatail around the neckline and the cute floral pattern.

Dress: Yumi
Cardigan: Primark
Legings: Primark
Boots: New Look

Belt: Primark
Necklace: Accessorize
Ring: Vintage

New Haul.. ♥

Today I bought a few new bits and bobs using my Christmas vouchers. I also resisted buying any new toiletries! Yay! Here is my mini haul.

I bought 2 lipgloss/perfume sticks from Next reduced to only £2 each. I love their Just Pink fragrance so bought that one, and then I also got one called Diamonds which is very nice too. The little perfumes are 5ml each and have a rollerball so you can roll it onto your wrists. Diamonds is "an opulent white floral fragrance entwined with fresh fruit nectars and crystalline musks" and Just Pink is "a fresh green floral fragrance with soft fruits and pink blooms."
I wasn't very interested in the attatched lipgloss so I just pulled it off... leaving a perfect handbag sized perfume :)

Bargain of the month! I had a £5 voucher for Dunelm Mill which I spent on these gorgeous hatboxes! They are half price and you can buy them online and even collect them instore for free here. I got all 3 sizes, the biggest one is £3.49. They're really nice and sturdy but also so pretty! They're quite deep too, and wide so plenty of space. Even the smallest one is very big! I will be using them as storage, but I'm not sure what for yet! Tights maybe? Aren't they cute?

I got these from work today (Debenhams). I've wanted one of these big Floozie by Frost French wash bags for ages, but at £15, thats a lot to pay for a make up bag. But I love the pop purse clasp, and the fact that there is a mini zip up pocket inside, and they are really quite big and spacious. You can't tell from the photo, but its a big washbag, not a little purse. Its 20cm x 24cm, and made from cotton with a tough PVC coating, and has a very pretty design. Anyway this was reduced from £15 to only £4.50, and with my staff discount I got it for £3.60! Bargain! I think it was so cheap because it is an old design, and it was the last one left! The inside has a cute striped lining too, and a lovely embroidered motto saying 'beauty comes from within'.

I also got this pretty vintage style cosmetic bag from work. I just bought it for the make up bag as I thought it was cute and practical, but I didn't realise that inside it was some miniature goodies! A hand and nail cream, hand wash, and a pretty nail file keyring. This was reduced from £10 to £3, so I paid £2.40 with my discount.

I also snuck these cheeky things into my basket.. reduced from £3 to £1.50, paid £1.20. Nom!

And also as we are getting rid of our Christmas stock at work, I was allowed to take home a few of the fragrance gift bags as they were just throwing them away! I chose all the pretty pink ones obv :) I will be using these for storage too. I have a bad habit of collection carrier bags and gift bags though!

Mmm choccys :D

"No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries in 2012 Challenge"

So after my last 2 posts on how much my make up costs and also the storage I use for my overstock of toiletries, I have come to the conclusion that I have too much of everything! Therefore I have decided to take part in the "No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries in 2012 Challenge". I saw this on a Money Saving forum and I thought that I should really do the same, especially as its soon going to be a New Year and I have so much stuff to use up!

I have a very bad habit of buying new products before I have finished one. And therefore I keep buying more and more and now my cupboard is full of stuff that I have collected over time. Aswell as buying stuff I also have won alot of health and beauty products so these have also added to the pile.

Here's the aim:
"No buying any new toiletries, cosmetics, perfume etc until I have used up all the ones I already have."

And here's some helpful tips from the forum:
  • Do a stock-take and see if there are any gaps in your stash that you might need to spend on this month
  • Set a budget for the month for essential purchases or to help with withdrawal symptoms
  • List everything so you can cross things off as they are used to increase the sense of achievement
  • Put a sum of money in a pot each time you use up an item to save for something you really want
  • Remember the challenge is about making the most of your money, enjoying your products, finding which products really suit you best and are worth buying, giving yourself a well-deserved pampering and breaking the habit of buying for the sake of buying.
  • It helps to avoid the places where temptation lurks: Boots, Bodyshop, the supermarket toiletries aisles, seductive department store beauty counter offers etc.
  • Remember retailers make offers and promotions all the time, so there willl always be another deal!
Anyone else want to take part with me? :)

My Bedroom Storage.. ♥

Last week I did a little post about my bedroom with lots of photos of what it looks like. Today I will be showing you my storage solutions for all my goodies :) So here it all is:

Under my bed: I keep all of my flat ballet shoes in these Union Jack cardboard boxes under my bed. I have 3 boxes of them! My heels are kept in a big plastic box under my bed too.
My wardrobe: This is my dresses wardrobe
And this is my skirts wardrobe! My tops are kept in my chest of drawers and my cardigans on the back of my door on hooks.
My handbags: Kept in boxes on top of my wardrobe.
Belts: I keep all of my belts in a little drawer.

My 'overstock' bags: I have a few heavy duty cardboard bags which I keep all of my toiletries in that I have too many of! I have a habit of buying shampoo, face wipes, shower gel, deodorant etc whenever its on special offer so I end up with a big supply of it!

My beauty cupboard: This is where all my beauty goodies go! In the last section of my mirrored wardrobe.
In this little make up case I keep my overstock of cosmetics that I use often. Mascaras, eyeliners and lip balms mostly!
My eyelashes bag
More hair products
Perfume sample bag
Choccy box
Freebies box - where I keep most of my free beauty goodies!

My storage boxes - Make up, nail polishes and other bits and bobs.
My new perfume collection :)
