I was sent some products from Poundlands own cosmetics range to try out. I have previously posted about a few bits of branded make up that I have picked up in Poundland before (here). However, these products are their own brand, and I was left rather disappointed. Of course, I wasn't expecting much from them, but I thought that they would be better than they are.
I recieved 2 lipsticks, a quad eyeshadow palette, 3 crackle nail polishes, and one regular nail polish. Their own brand is called 'Chit Chat' but the crackle nail polishes were by 'Outdoor Girl' which I had heard of before from shops such as Body Care.
To start with, the lipsticks. These weren't so bad, but I'm not a lipstick fan really. The colours were nice though, but they weren't very long lasting.
Next up is the eyeshadow quad. I quite like this. The colours are nice and neautral which is very me. However they weren't very pigmented at all and therefore didn't show up very well.
These crackle nail polishes I was most excited about, but were the biggest dissapointment. I loved the red colour in the bottle, and as they went on my nail they began to crackle right away. However, the lasting effect was horrible. It was like a powdery pastey finish. As you can see the glossy red on my nail isn't at all like the bottle. Not even worth the £1 in my opinion. Luckily they were easily removable with nail polish remover :)
Overall: Miss!

for the same price you can get MUA and they're excellent - but at least your review has let me (+other readers) know that it isn't worth it :) xxx
ReplyDeleteI hate the Poundland own brand makeup. They're so awful, so I was worried you'd write a good review on them. Luckily you didn't! I agree with you on everything you've said on this 100%
ReplyDeleteYea Rebecca I much prefer MUA! I'm a big fan of MUA actually. Especially their Pro range.
ReplyDeleteLol thanks Meowcake :) I like to remain honest in my reviews! Even though I am very thankful for being given the opportunity to try a new brand xx
