At the weekend, one of my best friends and I visited the beautiful old English town of Stratford Upon Avon. We had booked an afternoon tea lunch at the Best Western Grosvenor Hotel, and the weather was so beautiful; we were very lucky! I did a post in November about when I visited the same hotel with my parents, we had such a great time so it was so nice to go back again.
We had our afternoon tea in the Drawing Room of the hotel, and we were in there all alone and cosy. We started off the traditional English afternoon tea with some sandwiches and salmon pin rolls (love these!). We chose the chicken kujan and cheese and pickle sandwiches.. yum! I don't actually drink tea, so I had a coke to drink, and my friend had the breakfast tea.
After the sandwiches, we had two scones each, with thick double cream and deliciously sweet raspberry jam! Yummy!
Then we had a selection of little cakes. There was coffee cake, chocolate cake, lemon drizzle, tiramasu, chocolate mousse, and summer fruits mousse. Lemon drizzle cake is my favourite!
Then, last but not least we had the melted chocolate fondue! We were very full by the time this came, but we still managed to finish off all the marshmallows! Mmmm...
The deluxe afternoon tea costs only £13.50 per person, and it lasts a couple of hours, and fills you up well, so I think it's definatley value for money. It makes a great gift for a loved one and a wonderful day out. Stratford is a charming town with lots to see, and many gorgeous dainty shops. Have a look at some of my other photos from this weekend.

ReplyDeleteHi Victoria,
ReplyDeleteI was thinking of taking my best friend to this hotel for the delux afternoon tea at the end of this month. My only concern is that she is pregnant and cannot eat certain foods. I'm unsure if they will have anything suitable. Also will I need to book in advance?
You have a gorgeous site xx
Alaina
Hi Alaina, I'm sure she will enjoy it still! Although I don't know much about pregnancy. The staff are very helpful though, and I'm sure if you give them a list of what she can't eat in advance they will be able to accommodate her. They have different sandwich options. And yes we did book in advance :) Thank you xx
