At the beginning of the year, I was thrilled to have won a £125 Specsavers voucher from their Twitter page. I was planning on spending it on contact lenses, but after a two week trial, I really didn't get along with them! I could get them in my eye okay, but I just couldn't get them back out?! And the longer it took getting them out, the more frustrated I got, and more sensitive my eyes got, and they were watering so much. So contacts are definately not for me!
I only wear glasses when driving and watching TV, as my vison isn't that bad. But I don't mind wearing glasses, I actually have a bit of a thing for them on the opposite sex! I think glasses can be pretty stylish, and just an additional fashion accessory. There are so many styles out there, and I think that recently there has been a bit of a trend for specs.
I'm not really a fan of these trendy thick-rimmed glasses, as I feel they make my face look chubby! But I do love semi-rimless frames, and sleek designs. My previous glasses were by Morgan and I love them. They're a dark pink with thin rectangle frames. I wanted another similar pair because I felt comfortable in that style, and I'm picky when it comes to chosing ones that suit me.
I rummaged the Specsavers glasses racks, awkwardly picking up glasses, trying them on, then putting them back! I actually went back to the first pair that I tried on, which was this pair by Missoni. They are a black pair of semi-rimless frames, with a pretty out pattern along the sides, and small red logo. They were £125, so I managed to bag them without paying any extra by using my voucher prize.
What do you think of contact lenses and glasses? Do you wear them? Whats your favourite style?

I definitely prefer the style you have without rims, but as my lenses have to be SO thick (bad eyes) the only way I can get these is if I pay an extra £80 to get the lenses thinned :(
ReplyDeleteSo I do have the thick plastic frames, loved them at first and now sick of them, ha. I do love my contacts though :) xx
Those frames are utterly lovely - the filigree is so detailed!!

I used to wear contact lenses, but had laser eye surgery so no longer need to! These frames really suit you, and I love the detail on the sides! x
ReplyDeleteThese look gorgeous on you! So glad I am not the only one to go weak at the knees for men in glasses! haha

u look beautiful yaar...and i cant use contacts my eyes r very sensitive...
ReplyDeleteUm, yes to men in glasses. So adorable! I love your new glasses, especially the beautiful detailing on the sides. I only wear reading glasses, and only when I've been doing lots of detailed illustration work and my eyes hurt. I don't think I could pull off rimless or semi-rimless, though, I have such a heart-shaped face that I need a strong, dark frame to balance it out.

Aw they're really nice, I love the design on the legs.
ReplyDeleteI'm the same as you, I just wear mine for driving and watching the TV (when I remember) so I don't fancy wearing contacts. I've got thick frame Jasper Conran ones and they make me look intelligent haha xx
I look so weird in glasses, I can only wear ones which are semi rimless though, every other style make my face look huge :( I don't like wearing them except for when I'm at home so its always contact lenses when I'm going out!

Those are really nice glasses!
ReplyDeleteThese are really lovely - I actually have Missoni glasses very similar to this but they have the black all around the edge and just a small section cut out with pretty detail - will be looking out for these when I get my eyes done soon )
