I first found out about these Juicy Lipsticks from Terri Lowe's (awesome) blog. She did a review of one of these Poundland Chubby Stick/Just Bitten Kissable dupes and gave it the thumbs up. So next time I passed my local Poundland I popped in to see if I could try one too!
First, I picked up the lipstick in shade Damsel which I thought was the red hot one Terri tried, but she bought Firey Red. Damson is more of a hot pink, but I think maybe it is better suited for me actually as it's not so dark. On my next Poundland visit, I also found Firey Red, so bought that too!
I love rummaging through a lot of the Poundland rubbish to find gems like Stila and Revlon, but I never normally buy their own brand make up range. I have tried a few other Poundland Chit Chat products and wasn't impressed. But I was pleasantly surprised by this lipstick. It was highly pigmented and left a great glossy finish. It glides on effortlessly, and I love how moisturising it is! You simply take off the lid, twist up the bottom, and glide it on!
It lasts a good while, although I haven't tried a Revlon Just Bitten to compare it with. The Damson colour is really gorgeous, so deep and rich! Once blended in I think it is a wearable everyday shade, and would look great with a clear lipgloss on for evening wear.
The Damson colour comes out almost pumb-y, whereas it looks hot pink or reddish in the packaging. The Firey Red is a darker shade, but it doesn't seem to be as pigmented as the pink.

After doing a quick Google for these, it seems quite a few beauty bloggers fully approve of these bargain beauty dupes. I'm not sure how many shades it comes in, but I want to try a few more! I really love this Juicy Lipstick, and I'm so glad I managed to pick them up. I would recommend it 100% for those looking for a cheap way to get a bit of colour to their lips. Great to keep in your handbag for on the go touch ups. And only £1!

I've managed to pick up 2 of these altogether so far, Damson and Firey Red, and also Peony, which is like a lighter baby pink shade :) Love them all. I did a review on the Damson one a while back too; http://laurasallmadeupbeauty.blogspot.co.uk/search/label/Budget%20Alternatives

ReplyDeleteI agree that they're almost as good, obviously the packaging isn't as nice but the actual product is really high quality for one measly pound!!
