Daisy Street now do Clothes! Check out their Competition too ♥

I was emailed by Daisy Streets press company Punk PR to invite me to be one of ten fashion bloggers selected to enter their new competition. To enter, I had to create a collage of a must-have outfit from Daisy Streets new range of clothing. I decided to go for a glamorous tea party outfit, centered around their stunning Amelia button up shirt dress with a beaded collar. I think this dress is so beautiful, especially the collar embellishment, and it's such a classy colour and style.

Canon Powershot A3300 IS Review - My New Camera! ♥

As previously mentioned, I've got a lovely shiny new camera! I won it from a Facebook competition, so here it is, the Canon PowerShot A3300 IS. It's a digital compact, with 16 mega pixels 5x optical zoom and a 3" LCD screen. It's a little bit complicated for me to use, it has lots of different settings!




I haven't managed to find one for 'sports' mode yet, which I think would be useful for taking photo's of Merlin as he doesn't keep still! And the self timer seems to work intermittently, as it seems to need to focus at the time you press down the button. So if you're standing in front of it as you press the button, it's focusing on your close up body, so when you walk away, it blurs. Which is a big shame as I was hoping to use it for my OOTD's, but hopefully I will get used to it and work out its settings a bit more.




It's very good at close ups, the photo's come out very sharp and crisp, and also very bright. My old camera wasn't very good indoors unless there was a lot of natural light, but this one works well, and the flash also works well, although it seems it can be a little too bright, giving things a washed out look. Hopefully I will sort this out soon too! Anyway, overall I'm very pleased with my camera, and it seems to be taking some wonderful photos. I'm sure once I sit down to read the instructions and figure out the settings it will work wonderfully!




And here are some comparison photo's. The top photos are taking on my old Fujifilm J20 10megapixel, and the bottom photos are taken on this new Canon. You can see that my old camera seemed to zoom in without me even asking it to! And they are really dark and shadowy. Also, the flash leaves a really dark shadow in the photos, whereas my new camera is lovely and light but sharp! These photos haven't been edited at all!

These photos were taken with flash, and my old camera (left) cast dark shadows over the photo.

My Mermaid Manicure - Barry M Aqua Glitter + Blue Moon ♥

I'm calling this a Mermaid Manicure because it's how I would imagine a pretty mermaid to have her nails done! I took advantage of the 2 for £5 offer on Barry M at Superdrug, and I bought Aqua Glitter and Blue Moon. I love the glitter, it has some really tiny particles and then a few large ones. The blue moon looks very slightly shimmery too! They go really nicely together. So I decided to use the glitter on my tips on top of the blue. What do you think?

Say Hello to my New Ragdoll Kitten - Merlin! ♥

As some of you may remember, I lost my dearest elderly cat Magnus at the beginning of the year (see post here). He was my only pet and I had him since I was a little girl, so I was very upset at losing him. However, last month I thought it was about time I move on, and feeling pretty lonely at bed time, I thought about getting a new cat to keep me company. After meeting a Ragdoll cat at a family do, I realised that the Ragdoll breed was exactly for me!

The Ragdoll is a cat breed with blue eyes and smooth fluffy long haired coat. Ragdolls are best known for its docile and placid temperament and affectionate nature. The name "Ragdoll" is derived from their tendency to go limp and relaxed when picked up. They are described as affectionate, intelligent, relaxed, gentle and easy to handle. And they're so gorgeous.. the perfect cat!

So I found a breeder near to me, who happened to have a new litter of 5 kittens. So I popped over and picked which baby I wanted, and I got to finally bring him home on Thursday evening :) After handing over a rather extortionate amount of money, he's now settled in brilliantly, investigating his new home and finding his litter tray no problems. He's also an awesome night time protector - destroying any insects and then sleeping right next to me :) I named him Merlin because I thought it was a cute name! I honestly am in love with him! I am cat mad, and I really think I have a perfect kitten now :) He is going to grow up to 20lbs, but for now he's my little baby kitten. He is the most expensive thing I own except for my car, but I think he's worth every penny :)

Recent Freebies + how to get them ♥

As well as being an avid competition enterer, I also like to receive a few freebies now and again. Health and beauty freebies are my favourites, especially perfumes. I find these freebies from all over the internet, and there are even freebie 'directories' which list different available freebies. There's no catch to these, they're often just providing you with a small product sample to try out, and they hope you will like it and purchase it again in future. It's a way for companies to promote themselves and create awareness for their brand and products. 

These small sample sizes are really handy for keeping in  your handbag, or taking travelling! Or they can be nice to add to a gift hamper for a friend as a little extra. You can read a full freebie guide by Martin Lewis from Money Saving Expert here. Some people ask me to list the freebies I get, but it's literally impossible to do this because they are very short lived, and 'sell out' too quickly. If you are interested in being one of the first to grab a freebie, here are some of the best directory websites I use. Keep an eye on them every so often, and apply for the freebies that are available. They usually take a while to come through the post, but they will come!
