Earlier in November I spent the day in London with my parents exploring the areas around Leadenhall Market and Spitalfields. There’s some very pretty places in the area and I loved this flower stall in Leadenhall. We also went to the Threadneedles Hotel for afternoon tea where we enjoyed sitting in the hotels stunning lounge under the impressive stained glass dome whilst being served out finger sandwiches, scones, and cakes.
My Dad has worked really hard at helping me do up my flat exactly how I want it. When I bought the place the bathroom was the worst part and needed a good makeover. My Dad has repainted it, put up these gorgeous marble shelves and also put up the marble waterproof plastic on the walls at my request as the bath isn’t tiled very high! I’m so happy with it now and I’ll be doing a full blog post on the bathroom soon!
Since moving out I’ve had to leave my two kitties at home with my parents. Marshall is deaf and so he has an insanely loud meow which wouldn’t really work here living in such close proximity to my neighbours! And Merlin loves playing out in the garden so it wouldn’t have been fair to move him here, and the flat isn’t really big enough for pets anyway. Although I miss them, my parents are home all day everyday to fuss over them both and they’re getting spoilt rotten! And I’m only down the road so they get plenty of visits from me still.
As a little leaving gift before I moved out I gave my precious little boys a new luxury collar each! These collars from Supakit are made from handcrafted from the finest, most supple, vegetable tanned Italian leather. I picked the Azure blue colour for Merlin and the Rose pink for Marshall. Don’t they look cute?!
I also ended up putting our Christmas tree up really early! I wanted to find a nice tall slim tree that doesn’t take up too much room and I found this one in Argos for only £20. I wanted to test it out for size and then once I had it out of the box I thought we may as well keep it up! I got all my red and white Nordic themed tree decorations from my parents house so now it’s nice and full and I love it! And it fits in just perfectly on the TV unit in the corner with my other Christmas decorations.
After dinner, we all helped to make the desserts (Christmas pudding and polenta cake) and took a tour around the showroom looking at all their clever appliances (including a DishDrawer dishwasher!). I really enjoyed learning more about Fisher & Paykel as it’s not a brand that I was familiar with before. It was also lovely to hear that the staff helped a local homeless shelter by providing them with a fridge, two ovens, induction hob, cooker hood, washing machine and a dishwasher.
Next up in my blogger diary was a little meet up of a few local bloggers to Thor’s Tipi which has recently opened up in the Intu shopping centre in Milton Keynes. The Viking inspired pop-up tipi is open until 31st December and we enjoyed drinking mulled cider and eating delicious halloumi fries huddled around the fire pit. I can definitely recommend a visit!
And finally, on Saturday I went along to the Milton Keynes bloggers brunch which was held at a lovely local pub near MK. Sophie organised the event and a group of around 18 local bloggers met up for a Christmas get together where we enjoyed brunch, prosecco, and secret santa!
