DIY Post: No Sewing Required Pretty Cath Kidston Cushion ♥

I have a sewing machine but it's a right hassle getting it out and setting it up, and threading the bloody bobbin every time. So if I can find a way to cheat my sewing needs then I will! I recently took a trip to Ikea and picked up a big plain white cushion with an attached cover. It was only £3, and I thought I would buy it and do myself a DIY project using some of the pretty fabrics I've gathered lately.

I've a stack of Cath Kidston fabric samples that I've picked up from their St Neots factory store on the cheap. So I decided to use some of them to customise my new big cushion into something more my style!

I 'made' the big one in the middle!

All I needed was some scissors, fabric, and some Fabri-tac glue (and of course the cushion). I simply drew out the letters to spell LOVE freehand. This was a lot of guess work and should probably have made some templates on the computer, but I'm lazy! Then I cut the letters out using some sharp fabric scissors. I stuck on the letters using the fabulous Fabri-tac glue, which is a permanant adhesive that can be used on fabrics. I also cute out some roses and strawberrys from Cath Kidston fabric swatches and stuck those on too.

And that was all I needed to do! I hope you enjoyed this simple DIY no-sew cushion tutorial!

My Baby Nephews Christening - Sunshine, Cake & Personalised Gift ♥

Here's a more personal post compared to my usual shopping hauls and bargain hunting blog posts. At the beginning of June it was my little nephew Joseph's Christening. It was held at our local village church, which is so beautiful and old, and luckily the sun shone down all day. After the church service, we went to the venue we had hired for a buffet lunch and drinks. Yummy cheese, olives, and pizza! Baby Joseph is now 9 months old and is my sisters son, and I also have a little 9 year old niece; Lara.

As a gift, I created the cake for the party, which included a little 6" round cake with Joseph George William on it, and then 50 cupcakes with little baby blue decorations on, and 20 fairy cakes for the kids. They went down a storm!

I also gave Joseph a cute little money box from Find Me A Gift. It is personalised with his name and Christening date, and says Love From Auntie Vikki on the back. I love personalised presents! I thought this would be a perfect gift for a baby, as his parents can add their spare change into the money box and then add it to his savings fund. It will also match perfectly with his lovely little nursery room, and I especially liked the cute bunting and train design! I like this as a gift idea for a baby as I hope that it will be something that stays sat on his windowsill throughout his childhood, and as it is ceramic it should last for many years to come.

Here's some photos from the day. I will be doing an outfit of the day post soon! Bless my sister, I'm in flats and she's in little heels and she looks so petite! We took so many lovely family photos, it's always nice when everyone gets together all dressed up!

Happy Fathers Day ♥

Happy Fathers Day to my super-duper Daddy! I have the best Dad (and Mum!) I could ever ask for. And even after spending a week away on holiday with them both they haven't made me want to pack up and leave home just yet! They're both always there for me and are always supportive and lovely (when they're not both driving me nuts) ♥

Also I got him a hilarious Fathers Day card that says 'Finest Dad, Extra Matured, Aged to Perfection' and looks like a block of cheese.. haha, I'm so amusing.

Stay in Touch - Import your GFC blogs to Bloglovin in one click ♥

So I'm sure you've heard all over Bloggersphere that Google Friend Connect and Google Reader are both soon to disappear; Google Reader on 1st July, and GFC will be later on in the year. I know some bloggers aren't bothered by this change, but personally I feel I've worked hard to achieve almost 3,000 GFC followers. And I'm a bit sad that now I'm going to lose them all! And I'm not using Google Plus, it's pants.

But, it's not the end of the world, and I better get with the times! So to keep up with the changes, I've found out that you can easily transfer all the blogs you follow on Google reader, to Bloglovin'.

To start, create your Bloglovin' account, and then 'claim your blog' by verifying by a html code. You can also ad a Bloglovin' 'Follow Me' button to your sidebar too.

You will be able to import all your Goodle Reader blogs after you've signed up, via this link. Ta da! All done. I also like that Bloglovin' has the Top Blogs and Up and Coming Blog sections so I can find new reads!

So, please continue to read my little corner of the internet, and you can follow me on Bloglovin' here.
