Superdrug is currently offering 2 for £10 on all Maybelline make up! This includes their £9.99 foundations too, so if you use Maybelline regularly, or want to try their products, now would be the time to stock up. I purchased two of their foundations, a concealer, and the Dream Touch Blush in Plumb.
I love girly pink blushers, but I find that they don’t last very long on my skin, even though it’s quite dry. Also the colour never seems to be deep enough, so I thought I would try a cream blusher as I thought it would last longer.
|Maybelline Dream Touch Blush in Plumb. Swatched and blended.|
I love the colour of this blusher, it’s quite a natural pink, rather than a hot pink Barbie colour. The tub it comes in is pretty tiny (7.5g), and it doesn’t come with a blush or applicator. Being a bit of a beauty queen novice, I wasn’t sure how to apply this, so I thought the only option was to use my fingers, which was a bit difficult as the pot was quite small and then it all got stuck under my nails. Not good. But after I managed to get some out, I applied it to my cheeks using my finger tips.
I found it quite difficult to get to to blend in evenly, so I decided it was best to go over it with a bit of pink powder blush using a blusher brush to even it out. The colour looked great, although it didn’t stay put for very long, or at least it didn’t stay deep for as I had hoped. Also, the formula of this was a little bit oily, I know it’s a cream, but it felt a little bit greasy and slimey. I probably just wasn’t used to it!
Overall, once it’s on and applied evenly, I love how it looks. I sometimes find that blushers can be ‘shimmery’ and I hate that! But this is matte, with a hint of sheerness, but no sparkle. I will continue to use this product as I love the colour and pigment, but I think I need to work on application.
The Dream Touch blush retails for £6.49, it comes in 4 shades, and is available from Superdrug and Boots.
