DIY Small Table Chest Revamp – Cath Kidston Style ♥

The same day I made my DIY clothes hangers, I also decided to use the same paint to revamp an ugly piece of my furniture! I’ve had this ugly little pine chest hidden in my built in wardrobe forever. I had even painted the wooden knob on the drawer pink in my teen years! Gross. Luckily it was hidden away from view but I did use it as storage.

So as I was painting away at my hangers, I decided to paint the whole thing white! Just so that it fits into my bedroom a little bit better. I then also decided to give it a little Cath Kidston accessorising with some of their washi tape. I have posted before about various ways to use washi tape. I used it on my wall shelving, and even on my TV! You can buy it from Amazon , or there are similar versions on eBay.

So here’s how I made it’s transformation:

1. Lightly sand the wood with sanding paper all over
2. Give it a coat of white paint
3. Let it dry, and then give it a second coat!
4. Press some pretty tape along the edge!
5. Finished!
I keep the chest in my wardrobe, it looks much prettier now underneath all my dresses! I use the drawer to keep all my belts in, and in the gap underneath I keep boring folders and paperwork.

I hope you liked this post! 🙂

Wow, it looks great! I have a chest of drawers that's dusky pink and chipped. I've been trying to pass it off as 'shabby chic', but I think I need to do it up, as yours looks fab! x
