Remington Smooth & Silky Epilator & Goodies ♥

A few weeks ago I received possibly one of my favourite packages ever, as I was exceptionally lucky to be sent this box of goodies from Remington. Womens hair removal isn’t very frequently discussed in public, nor on blogs, but I think that it’s something that we should be more open about.. as pretty much everyone does it! And especially when it comes to gadgets, you’re never really sure what works, so it’s always handy to read reviews on electrical products.
The main product that I wanted to let you know about, is the Remington EP7030 Cordless 5 in 1 Epilator. This is a brand new product in the UK, so I’m super excited to be one of the first people to get their hands on it!
The 5-in-1 epilator has been designed to be used anywhere, including in the bath or shower, so it works on wet or dry skin.  The cordless design makes it especially easy to use, and once it’s been fully charged with the charger included, I think I’ve had more than 5 uses of it, and it’s still not ran out! It doesn’t take long to charge either, and the handy LED lights show you once it’s fully charged and ready to use! It’s also got a pivoting head which I don’t think all other epilators have, which makes it very easy to use and means it can get closer to the skin and pick up even the shortest hairs (0.5mm).
I have dabbled with epilating before, but it was a while ago now, and to be honest I’d forgotten quite how painful it can be the first time round! But trust me, after the first time, it’s a piece of cake, and after a few go’s it’s almost completely painless (I promise!).

Rather than shaving, which cuts the hair at the skin surface and grows back quickly and prickly, epilation uses 40 tiny tweezers to pull the hairs out directly from the root. This is what gives it the ouch factor. But after a few weeks, the hair root becomes more ‘loose’ and therefore the hairs pull out easier with much less pain. And with regular use, the hairs grow back thinner and more slowly meaning that the periods of time between shaving increases so you
will only have to maintain it every few weeks instead of every few
days. I’ve found it keeps my legs smooth for around 3 weeks.
It does remove hair very swiftly, but so far I’ve only been brave enough to use it on my lower legs, as once it gets up to my knees I wimp out a bit! However it can also be used on forearms, underarms, and it also has a specialist facial epilation function that can gently control hair growing on the face (if you so require!). It does also come with a special shaver attachment is which is designed for trimming and shaping the bikini line.
Overall, I’m thrilled with my new health and beauty gadget! I’ve been using it once a week so far to ensure all pesky little stubbles are kept at bay, and I’m sure I will use it for the rest of the summer weather. Hopefully I will also keep it up over winter too, but my legs rarely see outside of my tights from October onwards.

If you haven’t used an epilator
before, don’t worry it’s really easy. Here are a few hints and tips from Boots to
make the process more comfortable:
• Take a warm bath or shower before epilating and exfoliate to remove dead skin cells. This will make your skin more pliable, and epilation easier.
• Epilate in the evening so that any possible redness can disappear overnight.
• After use apply a body cream or aloe lotion to sooth the skin and reduce skin irritation.
The Remington EP7030 Cordless 5 in 1 Epilator is available at a special introductory price of £60 at Boots.
Along with the epilator, Remington also sent me some pampering goodies to ease my first epilating process! Firstly, this Breakfast Scrub by my much loved Soap and Glory was perfect for removing the dead skin cells when I had a nice hot shower. It smells devine, and it feels like rubbing oats and sugar all over your skin! I also received the Soap and Glory Heel Genuis which is perfect for soothing aching dry feet.

An amazingly relaxing ‘Restore’ travel candle from Neom. I’ve heard so much about Neom candles, and I don’t really see the hype if I’m honest, but I do like it! It helps to create a relaxing atmosphere, which I definitely needed as I was pretty nervous about attacking my legs with 40 tiny tweezers.

Another brand I’d not tried before, I was also sent this body butter by Korres. This was perfect to applying to my slightly sore legs after epilating. It kept my skin smooth and moisturised, and soothed any redness. I also received the Rimmel Instant Tan, which is actually surprisingly good!

Have you been brave enough to try epilating before? Do you have any tips? Whats your favourite hair removal method?

I had to read this post as soon as I saw it on my Bloglovin preview because I got the same package too! Fab selection of goodies – we are very lucky!
As I was on holidays, I've only been able to look at it this weekend and tried the epilator on just a small part of my leg to see what it's like. I was really expecting it to be agony and it's not so I can't wait to do both legs later this week.
I'll link to your review when I'm writing up mine, Avril x

I've tried it before, it hurts at first but then after a while like with waxing you get used to it. I used to be able to epilate my underarms without any pain! it does get rid of hairs for ages as well.

I had an epilator years ago but it just took so long!! It would take me hours to do my legs.

Thanks for the first time tips. I just tried epilating and it didn't work for the first time, it hurts a lot. After trying your tips, I've never turn to wax anymore.
