Roger Black Fitness Treadmill ♥

I mentioned at the beginning of the month that I was going to try my best to lose weight and get fit. And I’m very lucky to now have this amazing piece of fitness equipment, the Roger Black Silver Treadmill. I received this at the beginning of January and I was eager to get it set up as quickly as possible so I could get on with my weight loss mission!

I was a little bit worried about putting it all together (this thing weighs a tonne!) as I’d read that some treadmills can take an hour or so to build. But luckily this only took my Dad around 15 minutes to set up, it was really easy as it was mainly just fixing the bars and the top to the belt bottom. I think I could probably have done it myself! It came with all the screws and allen keys etc and the instructions were simple enough.

I loved the idea of having a treadmill at home, as when I used to go to the gym the treadmill was the main piece of equipment I used. I gave up my gym membership because the 1 hour round trip was getting to be a bit too much for me, and gym membership is pricey. I tried cycling and running outdoors, but there’s not really anywhere nice to run where I live, and I hate being out in the cold.

In my (parents) house we have a conservatory that isn’t used for anything in particular except storing the tumble dryer and my cake boxes. It was the ideal place to put the treadmill because it’s nice and cool (aka freezing) in there at the moment, but I’m thinking in summer it will heat up! This treadmill is huge, although I picked a smaller one compared to some of the ones available. It also apparently can fold up to make more space, but I’ve not tried this yet.

It has variable speeds up to 13km, and you can also set up programmes to suit your level. I tend to stick to around 7km (a fast walk) for 15 minutes or so and then try to do 10 minutes at 10km, and I try to do this every other day. The system does have a calorie counter on it, although I can’t say it’s 100% accurate.. it says I burn only half the calories that online calorie counters predict. It also has hand grip pulse sensors on either side of the hand bar which gives you your pulse rate. I’m also pretty impressed that it has an iPad slot on the top of the system, which is perfect for me as it means I can listen to music from my tablet or even watch TV whilst running.

So far I’m really happy with the treadmill and am getting good use out of it! I hope I can keep up the use and I’ll be sure to do an update once I start to notice more of a difference to my fitness level.

You can buy the Roger Black Fitness Silver Treadmill for £299.99

Wow I'd love to have one at home! I have just taking up running this year and have gone from managing 2 minutes at 6.5km before having to stop, to 20 minutes at around 7.5km – its amazing how quickly our body adjusts! I think I need to sign up to a few races to keep me motivated! 🙂

Thats so great to have one like that at home! We have one at home that is manual, buts it's incredibly hard to use as it goes really fast. That looks like such a good investment though xxx

I am so bad at working out at home. I'm fine if I go to the gym, but I don't think I'd be as motivated if I had a treadmill at home. I'm useless at going for a run by myself as well, but I'm ok as part of a group.

Ooh that does look like a good size treadmill! I definitely prefer to work out at home, in front of the tv or watching the music channels!
