How to Make a DIY Cat Bed ♥

Okay so Merlin looks a bit startled in this photo and not particularly happy, as he struggled with parting from his manky old bed! But I’ve wanted to get Merlin a new cat bed for a while but I just couldn’t find one pretty enough or at the right price.

I then stumbled upon a photo on Pinterest where someone made a pet bed at home using an old knitted jumper. I thought this was the perfect solution to my kitty dilemma, and so I immediately went to find an oversized jumper I could use for my DIY project. I had hoped that it would end up looking similar to this cable knit pet bed that I featured in a recent wishlist.
I found this grey cable knit jumper dress which was always way too huge for me, and so I decided it would be ideal. I stuffed a pillow inside the jumper, although looking back this pillow is too thick and I should have used something thinner. I then wrapped the sleeves of the jumper around the front, and tucked away any excess fabric. I used some fabric glue to secure the jumper and then shaped it a little, and voila! It was that easy!
I just hope Merlin will migrate to his new bed once I get rid of his old one!

I am so impressed with this Victoria! I didn't expect the outcome to be so sleek and stylish but it works really well 🙂 x
