For those of you who might have forgotten.. Mothers Day is next weekend on Sunday 6th March! My Mum doesn’t like much of a fuss for Mothers Day or birthdays etc so I tend to just get her something small along with some pretty flowers and then we go out for dinner or afternoon tea as a family. If you’re stuck for gift ideas this year then check out some of these goodies you could treat your Mum to…
(scroll down for a cupcake giveaway too!)
These roses are literally the most beautiful I have ever seen! This Mothers Day flower bouquet is called Belle (my mamma’s name is Isabelle) and the bunch includes some stunning baby pink sweet avalanche roses, white avalanche roses and lilac memory lane roses accompanied by silvery cinerea eucalyptus.
They are so very pretty and I think they look lovely set up in a jug, and they lasted well over a week too! If you’re looking to treat your Mum to some beautiful flowers this year, you can get 33% off at Appleyard Flowers (exclude the flowers by post) using code BLOG33.
If your Mum loves to try new out new things then why not get her a beauty box? This one from Regis Salons includes loads of great hair care miniatures which are the perfect size for sampling something new and ideal for taking travelling.
This months box included caviar moisture conditioner, a mini hairbrush, a Maybelline nail polish, Redken shampoo, conditioner and diamond oil treatment and much more. The boxes are £15 each although months box is currently out of stock but keep an eye out for the next one!
I’m a collector of Royal Albert beauties and these two china pieces are the newest addition to my hoard and I think they would also make lovely Mothers Day gifts. They are from the Candy Honey Bunny collection and I love the pretty colourful florals with cute bunny rabbit print!
The mug is bigger than your standard mug and I really like the elegant shape and styling of it and the delicate bone china handle. It’s like an oversized teacup really! I also love the matching heart shaped tray which can be used to store little nik-naks and jewellery.
Maybe you have a family tradition of bringing your Mum breakfast in bed on Mothers Day, in which case the little details count! Why not set up a pretty morning feast for her using a sweet serving tray like these vintage style ones from Accessorize at House of Fraser.
The set comes with three different sizes for only £12.50 and the rim is decorated with cute little butterflies cut out and a colourful butterfly and floral print pattern. I think these look lovely with some pretty vintage china and a cup of tea!
This cushion is probably meant to adorn the beds of young children, but my Mums favourite animal is the elephant so I think she will love this! It has a vintage charm to it and features a combination of blue floral fabrics in a patchwork design. I think this cute little fella will take pride of place on my Mums side of the bed!
My Mum has recently retired which means she is taking full advantage of her time off and is often away on holidays or short breaks away visiting her friends and family. As she tends to travel light, even when she goes abroad, I thought this weekend holdall bag from Vendula would be the perfect gift for her!
I think it’s just the right size to use as hand luggage on most airlines but it’s also very spacious so there’s plenty of room to pack! It also has a few little pockets too which are handy, as well as being the prettiest bag I’ve ever seen! I love the tea party theme appliqués, and even the zipper pull is designed to be a little tea bag, and the teapot and teacup print lining is just adorable! I think I will have to borrow this one…
My Mum has lots of colourful jewellery although she hasn’t got a decent place to store it all, which is why I thought this sweet jewellery holder from Sass and Belle would be a great gift for her. It has lots of branches to hang things from, as well as a few hoops which are ideal for hanging earrings on.
I think it makes a lovely alternative to jewellery boxes as it’s such a nice way to display favourites pieces too. And the little birdies are quite sweet aren’t they? A bargain at only £13!
I love little token gifts like these! The ‘best Mum’ heart shaped decoration is a lovely little gesture which I’m sure will be very much appreciated and hung with pride. And the ‘lovely Mum’ compact mirror is going to be gratefully received I think because my Mum is always asking to borrow my mirror whenever we’re out! Now she can have her own little pocket mirror which will fit nicely into her handbag.
Sass and Belle have lots of beautiful gifts and homewares, and if you use code ‘victoria‘ on orders over £35 then you can get 20% off! Expires 30th April.
And finally… if your Mum has a bit of a sweet tooth then I think she would absolutely love these edible photo cupcakes! You can have them personalised with any message or photo you like, although I chose to have a pretty Happy Mothers Day image put on mine which came out really nicely and with vivid colours.
You can chose from vanilla or chocolate cupcakes and I got to try the chocolate. I must say they were extremely moist and tasty, with a chocolate sponge topped with gooey fudge icing and then the white icing topper.. yum! The are quite big too and come in a silver metallic cake case and were in perfect condition when they were delivered by the courier.
If you’d like to win your own set of 6 cupcakes from Eat Your Photo, please leave me a comment letting me know what message or photo you would want printed on your Mothers Day cupcakes. Competition closes midnight 6th March 2016.
