So I’ve been pretty quiet on the blogging front lately for various reasons, but I am still here! Recently I’ve been a lot more active on Instagram instead so I think I’ve been a bit lazy and not posting on my blog as much. But I’m still keeping it up every so often and hopefully when summer finally comes along I’ll have more opportunity to take photos with natural sunlight! But here’s a little run down of life lately..
With Easter just around the corner I decided to set up a little Easter table in my dressing room using some cheap and cheerful decorations I picked up. The white wire tree is actually a jewellery stand but I thought I’d use it as an ‘Easter tree’ to hang some cute little decorations off; I found these adorable wooden ones in Tiger as well as the polka dot bunnies from Pound World.
I also bought the little eggs and nests from the pound shop as well as the eggs on sticks which I’ve popped in a little vase. The little bunny rabbit on a cupcake is from Tiger, as is the big white bunny (purchased a while ago). The bunny rabbit in a bell jar I bought from Asda last year for only £6 but I think it’s now sold out.
I’ve also given my dressing room a little tidy up recently as it was beginning to be a bit of a dumping ground for me! But now it’s spick and span again and it always makes me happy to see a nice tidy interior!
I’ve become a massive fan of Joules over the winter and I now seem to be living in my Joules gear. I wore this outfit on a chilly weekend which consisted of my new quilted gilet, striped jumper and jeans.. all Joules!
On a quick visit to Wilko recently I noticed they had lots of stuff reduced and I was particularly pleased to have found these Great British Bake Off baking goodies in their clearance. The muffin tin was only £1.75, the big oven dish was £3 and the mini dish £2! Bargain and so pretty!
When payday arrived last month Terri and I decided to make an impromptu visit to Birmingham which was planned literally at the last minute. The night before I found a good deal on a Hilton hotel near the city centre so we stayed overnight and spent the weekend shopping and eating.
We spent way too much money shopping (Natwest even blocked my card.. oops!) and we were pretty exhausted after a whole days spending spree so we had an early night in our hotel room. We were feeling a little bit peckish later on in the evening though, so we decided to order a dessert takeaway consisting of cookie dough, milkshake and hot chocolate. It was amazing!
One weekend last month I was feeling particularly nice to my little 11 year old niece so I decided to take her out for the day. We went to a little town nearby and had a mini afternoon tea in a cute vintage style tea room and then browsed the antique and charity shops. I actually quite enjoyed spending time with the little horror.
I’ve recently got back into pole fitness again, as I stopped in November after recovering from my laser eye surgery. I went back to the beginners class so I could start from the beginning again (I wasn’t very good to begin with!) and I’m thoroughly enjoying it!
It’s amazing how quickly you can pick things up, and now I can do things I never even thought possible! Here’s some awkward photos of me attempting to do an upside down crucifix and jagged edge trick!
I’m sure lots of you recognise this guys handsome little face! I was recently shopping in Milton Keynes after work and I ran into adorable Frank from First Dates! I was in awe so I stopped him and asked for a selfie and he is literally the cutest guy! And dressed rather snappily I must add.
I haven’t yet tried this limited edition lipstick from Kiko Milano because it is just too cute! It’s called the Endless Love lipstick and I love that it’s heart shaped and I don’t want to ruin it. Isn’t it cute?!
I’ve done so much shopping this last month I feel a bit bad.. but check out my new tweed skirt from Joules and this beautiful printed blouse from H&M (only £9.99)!
How adorable is this Joules kitten knitted jumper?! I bought it in the sale and I am in love! It is so warm and cosy too, and I think it goes nicely with this blush pink suede skirt from Select.
Today I was browsing in Savers for some false eyelashes (I don’t normally go in Savers but they have loads of lashes!) and I came across this Eylure set. It was only £2.99 so I decided to grab a couple as a set of lashes are more than £3 normally anyway! The kit includes 3 eyeshadows, a mascara, a liquid liner, an applicator brush as well as some lashes. After checking online, these sets have an RRP of £20, so grab ’em quick!
And finally, I’ve been doing quite a bit of charity shop shopping lately (fashion post coming soon!) and I’ve been collecting pretty vintage china for a while. I came across the floral mini tumbler glasses before Christmas and I bought a set of 5 for £1. Then last week I found the matching bowl for £1 in a completely separate charity shop in another town! I’m not really sure what the little glasses or bowl are for, but they sure are pretty!
And then today I bought these cute little teacups for £1 each as well as a pretty plate for £2. I love the wavy gold edge on the plate! I think I will use the teacups to grow cacti in and keep them on my windowsill.
