I had a really wonderful March as I started my dream job and also had a lovely mini break to Edinburgh, and the sun finally started shining too! I have lots to look forward to in April as well, as I have a trip to London booked, gig tickets to see You Me At Six and then Real Friends, and I’m also treating my niece to a stay in Brighton for her 13th birthday!
Here’s a little round up of some of my favourite photos from the last month.

I had a lovely peaceful weekend last week as I didn’t have anything planned, which made a nice change. It meant I could stay home in my PJ’s and relax in bed all morning with Merlin. You can’t beat lazy weekends! Look how big my boy is now.. my little fatty! So fluffy too…
I’m still all about the embroidery trend this season, as you can probably tell! I picked up these embroidered heels in Primark last weekend for only £15, and I plan on wearing them with a LBD on nights out with a burgundy velvet clutch bag.
I also found this grey ribbed jumper in the New Look sale for only £7, as well as the pretty black dress for £30. I wore the dress for a night out in London a few weeks ago and it was perfect teamed with black tights and ankle boots.
In March I also discovered the most stunning new lingerie store! European brand Hunkemoller opened their first ever store in Amsterdam in 1886, and they now have 800 stores across the world. They have now launched their UK website and offered me the chance to try out a stunning new set.
The lace Juliette bra caught my eye as I love longline styles and the hot pink colour is really eye-catching, as well as the matching Brazilian briefs. The detailing on both items is beautiful, and they are so well made and feel really good quality. I love the little featured like the bows and the cut out panels. And how adorable is the packaging?! The set arrived in a plain cardboard box on the outside but on the inside it had cute pink candy stripes.
Plus, research has shown that 80% of women are wearing the wrong bra size, so they also have a handy online bra fit guide to help to you pick the perfect size! They have some really gorgeous styles, so make sure you check them out.
I mentioned just after Christmas that my big sister bought me this adorable cat print duvet set as my pressie and I fell in love! Well on a recent trip to Asda I also spotted the matching cushion and also a little mini ceramic plate! They obviously both made it into my basket and I love my new matching accessories! The plate is now hanging on my wall in my bedroom, and the cushion is sitting on my bed.
So in February I left my job where I worked for an outdoor clothing company in Customer Service. On my last day my team gave me some beautiful pressies including this gorgeous handbag and flowers. I loved my job and my colleagues, but I felt that my passion was better suited to something in digital marketing. Although I sometimes got to help out the website team, I wanted to branch out into something new. So I applied for a small handful of jobs and got an immediate response and interview for the job that I really wanted.
On 1st March I started my new role as SEO Executive working for a digital marketing agency in St Albans. I am so happy that I was brave enough to make the change because I feel like I’ve learnt so much already, and there is still so much more to come. I’m off to the BrightonSEO conference next week too! The journey in the mornings is a bit of a drag, as it takes over an hour, but I’ve got used to it now, and it’s definitely worth it!
If you’re a fan of Hummingbird Bakery then you must pick up their Life is Sweet recipe book which is only £2 in The Works! I bought mine online and used a free delivery code and received it a few days ago, and it’s a total bargain! It has lots of great basic recipes from quick pancakes and cookies, to puddings, ice creams and layer cakes.
Now I’m not very greenfingered, but I do love pretty flowers! This cute little milk bottle wild flower vase from Sass & Belle is perfect for keeping little flowers from the garden in. I’ve used it to keep left over bouquet flowers in when most of them have died but there’s still a little bit of life left in a few!
I also love using teacups as little plant pots. I have used them for those mini daffodils in the past, but they have now been replaced with these cute cacti! They’re the perfect size and luckily don’t need watering very often and sit on my windowsill quite happily.
This is Merlin watching me eat breakfast in bed.. I feel like he judges me sometimes! And then there’s me dressed all 90’s grungey before my trip to see Terri.
And finally.. I popped into the Cath Kidston outlet store in St Neots recently but I was good and only bought a couple of bits. I picked up these pretty floral teaspoons for half price, reduced from £12 to only £6. I have the matching knives already, although they’re pretty expensive for what they are as the handles are not even ceramic, just plastic!
I also bought this tea cup and saucer set for less than £5! The teacup and small saucer came boxed for only £3 because the bigger plate was missing. However I managed to find the bigger plate on another shelf as it is ever so slightly chipped, so grabbed it for only £1.50 and it makes the perfect set!
We popped into Luton one Saturday to do a bit of last minute shopping before out Edinburgh trip, and we were looking for somewhere to eat and stopped at Steakout in the town centre. I really liked it in there and would definitely go again! I had a really nice Oreo milkshake, and Gavin had strawberry flavour, and then we both had a steak dinner which was really tasty! Plus, if you visit between 12pm and 4pm you can get their early bird offer (steak, side, and + sauce) for only £6.95.
