One of the local Ember Inns pubs in Milton Keynes has recently undergone a fresh new refurbishment and I was kindly invited to try them out.  I frequently pass the Ship Ashore pub in Willen as it is just over the road from my office, but I’d never actually tried it out before. We popped in one weekday evening to enjoy a new dining experience at the pub which is ran by Ember Inns.  The new refurb has left the pub…

If you’re feeling peckish or are on a no-cake diet, look away now! I recently found this adorable little tea room local to me in Ampthill, Bedfordshire. It’s called Cakestand and Crumb and is a tiny little vintage style cafe down a little side street in the pretty town. I visited back in November and I’m planning on popping in again this weekend for a scone and an excellent big slice of their home made cake! The cafe is only small…

The Belmont Room upstairs was pleasant enough; a large airy room with a live pianist playing throughout the afternoon. It lacked in atmosphere slightly and…

I was recently contacted by Parkdean Holidays to ask if I would like to sample some traditional locally sourced goodies from Cornwall.. of course I said ‘yes please’! As you all probably know by now, I’m quite the afternoon tea lover and I’m partial to a bit of cake and a scone now and again, so obviously I jumped at the chance. I’m also a massive fan of the beautiful Cornwall area, having visited a few years back and absolutely falling…
