For Easter weekend my boyfriend Gavin and I spent the nice long Bank Holiday weekend in London. I have a separate post coming up on where we stayed and what we got up to, but our visit to Icebar London deserved a whole post to itself! I’d seen lots of my friends on Facebook and Instagram had visited the Icebar restaurant and it had been on my ‘to do’ list for a little while, so I was very excited when I was invited to visit! Icebar London is really easy to get to, as it’s located just off Regents Street…

I always love finding a bargain, so when I saw that Village Hotels had a sale on in January, I wanted to bag a deal. I managed to grab 3 nights at their Edinburgh hotel for only £25 per night, which is an amazing price! I paid an additional £5 per night for breakfast which was very worthwhile as it was the perfect way to set ourselves up in the morning and great value for money. I’d been wanting to visit Edinburgh for a little while as so many people have recommended it to me. I was desperate to go…

To celebrate my new job, a few weeks ago I went out for dinner to The Knife and Cleaver pub in Houghton Conquest. The award winning pub, restaurant and hotel is located in the small village just outside of Bedford, opposite a beautiful old church.   The Knife and Cleaver The pub is a beautiful red brick building and the decor inside is very homely and cosy, with wooden furniture and simple furnishings. When we arrived we sat in the bar area for a drink before our meal. They do a range of different drinks including cocktails and mocktails, various gins…

Hampers make great, thoughtful Christmas presents and are ideal to give to family members. Although there are loads of ready made hampers available to buy, these always seem a little bit uninspiring and naff to me! I much prefer the idea of putting together your own hamper using unique products and treats of your choosing. How to Make Your Own DIY Treat Hamper  You could also theme your hamper: retro sweets, crackers and cheese, chocolate, alcohol! But this hamper that I’ve put together includes plenty of sweet treats such as popcorn, chocolate, and fudge! Yummy! Making a hamper is really…

Following on from my blog post on our micro break in Birmingham, I wanted to share with you our amazing meal at Bar + Block Steakhouse in the city centre. We were invited along to try out their new ‘Bottomless Brunch’ which includes unlimited prosecco, hot drinks and juice for £15 for 90 minutes when you order any dish.  Bottomless Brunch Although the restaurant looks like a trendy independent restaurant, it is actually part of the Beefeater Grill chain, although it had a better menu and generally a much warmer atmosphere. The space is nice and large and airy with…
