So today is my 25th birthday! I feel old.. it’s horrible so lets move on… I had a little BBQ in my garden to celebrate! Even though the weather wasn’t perfect, I had an urge to use my new BBQ. I bought this portable kettle Landmann Piccolino BBQ from Homebase, and the turquoise colour really caught my eye. We have never had a BBQ before, so we weren’t really experts in getting it set up, but eventually it got going and we successfully used it to cook some sausages and mini burgers. It’s only a little one, but it’s easy…

Last weekend I was invited to try out the new summer menu at Browns Brasserie & Bar in Milton Keynes, and I took both of my parents along with me (they deserve a treat once in a while!). We went on a Saturday afternoon, and when we arrived we were shown to our table at the back of the restaurant. I’d never been to Browns before, so I wasn’t sure what kind of place it was, but I was pleasantly surprised. It’s definitely more of a restaurant than a bar, and they even serve afternoon tea!   Starters Their summer menu…

It was over three months ago now (my blogging break lasted longer than I expected!) that I visited this fabulous tea room in Stratford Upon Avon. My lovely Dad took me for afternoon tea as I was feeling a little bit sorry for myself. We had been for afternoon tea in Stratford Upon Avon a few times previously – we had been to The Grosvenor Hotel but fancied a change this time. I’d heard about afternoon tea at The Fourteas on Tripadvisor and when I mentioned it to my Dad, we decided to pay a visit! It is located in…

Earlier this month I was kindly invited to dine at a lovely little country pub in Northamptonshire for Sunday lunch. The Fox & Hounds is located in the pretty village of Lower Harlestone which is just next to the country estate of Althorp (Princess Diana’s family home). We we went inside the traditional stone building and were greeted and quickly taken to our table in the main restaurant. The pub is very…

A couple of weekends ago I was invited to a really exciting blogger event! I don’t often go to many blogger events as they are almost always in London; but this one was worth attending! Luckily it was on a Saturday afternoon and as London is only a short train ride away I went to the big city for the day and met up with Terri at Euston.  We were invited by Rennie and the event was held on a vintage bus that drives around Central London whilst we got to indulge in a delicious afternoon tea spread! The big…

Apologies for the delay in getting this post up; I’ve been pretty absent from the online world lately. But last month I was invited for a lovely family meal at my local Jamie’s Italian restaurant in Milton Keynes. I went along with my parents and we enjoyed a 3 course dinner on a sunny Monday evening after work.   Starters The staff there were really welcoming and friendly and were extremely helpful. We were seated in a cosy little booth and given our menus. For starters, we shared three small side plates; Italian Nachos, Crispy Squid, and Sweet Mini Chilli…
