I picked up issue 6 of Cake Decorating magazine from my local Tesco’s last week. I wasn’t planning on buying this issue as I didn’t really like the look of the stencils which were promoted as the free gift, but there is also an additional free gift that I love, a pretty magazine binder!
I love the image on the front! Pretty floral vintage style cupcakes, too cute. the binder was a bit complicated at first as it comes with all these tiny little plastic pegs and you have to put them in the holes, but I managed it in the end! It a nice big binder, and it is in full colour, back and front. Also, on the inside it has a few handy helpful hints such as weight conversions and a cake covering, and portions guide.
The magazine itself is in it’s usual easy to read format. Most of the pages are to do with how to use the stencils in different ways. And also how to make cake pops! It also has an amazing lemon drizzle cake recipe! Yum, my favourite! The magazine includes instructions on how to use the stencils with Royal icing. This issue came with 3 plastic stencils, each with a similar design on. They look quite fiddly to use though, so I’m not sure I will attempt it.
Hi Victoria, do you subscribe to the magazine? Theres a group on facebook and on twitter and theres lots of mention about the shops not stocking it soon and it only being available to subscribers. Just thought I'd mention it in case you don't already. Its a good magazine though isn't it? I was spending a fortune on equipment but this is a far cheaper way.
No I dont subscribe as I just pick up the ones with the interesting free gifts, I hope they keep selling it! xx
DeAgostini is an Itlian brand for books and magazines…but here in Italy there isn't any Cke Decorating magazine! 🙁
I really want this magazine, but no where near me stocks it 🙁 Very tempted with a subscription i think 🙂 xxx

Its a good magazine to get you into baking as a beginner and the free gifts make it great value. I've not tried the stencils yet! xx
how to you get the magazines into the binder?x
I don't know how to attach the magazines to the binder either, can you help?
Hey… I've only just worked out the binder to the magazine 🙂 you no youve got white plastic (small stocks in the middle you have to cut them off and place them through the top and bottom of the folder. They sit inside your magazine to hold them in… Hope this helps 🙂 Jo

Pull all of the little sticks off of their holder, and then poke them all through the holes in the middle of your folder. Then you can slot the middle of the magazine between the top and bottom stick! 🙂 x
