Last month we were invited to spend the night at The Marlborough Arms Hotel in one of our favourite towns; Woodstock in Oxfordshire. We visited Woodstock for the first time last year and we absolutely loved the quaint little town so we were excited to be going back! We were very warmly welcomed upon arriving at the hotel, which has its own car park which is always handy when staying in a central location. The Marlborough Arms is a beautiful 15th Century coaching inn that overlooks the town’s historical streets. The room we were given was The Churchill Room which…

Last year we decided to splash out and book a big holiday for 2020! I went on a cruise to the Bahamas a few years ago and I absolutely loved it, so Gavin and I chose to book a 7 night Caribbean cruise with Royal Caribbean! In May we’ll be sailing aboard the Harmony of the Seas which is the second largest cruise ship in the world and stopping off at Perfect Day (Royal Caribbean’s private island in The Bahamas), Cozumel, Roatan, and Costa Maya. Sorry for the silence over on my blog lately – I’ve had a busy few weeks! At the end of November Visit Cheshire kindly invited me on a trip to Chester to visit the historic walled city at this magical time of year and enjoy the Christmas market. We got the train from Milton Keynes directly into Chester, which took less than an hour and a half! It was so easy and amazingly quick and no need to change trains. I was very excited to stay in Chester as I’d visited briefly a couple of times when I was younger…

Last month I was very kindly invited to stay at the Solent Hotel; a premier four star hotel with spa facilities in Fareham, Hampshire. We decided to stay over my birthday weekend which made it a lovely little treat and we had the best couple of days! With all the hassle of moving house and dealing with solicitors etc I felt like I needed a nice relaxing break so this was very much needed. Solent Hotel is located in Fareham which is between Portsmouth and Southampton, so it’s right by the sea! On our drive down to the hotel we…

Last month we spent the weekend in the quaint little market town of Woodstock in Oxfordshire. We were invited to stay at The Feathers Hotel which is a 17th century town house which has been turned into a charming boutique hotel. Woodstock is located about 20 minutes north of Oxford city centre and on the edge of The Cotswolds, so it’s the perfect place to stay if you’d like a weekend away with plenty of pretty villages nearby. The historic town of Woodstock is also home to Blenheim Palace which is a short walk down the road from The Feathers…
