Clothes Show Live 2012 Pics & Haul ♥

Thank you for all the support on my post earlier today everyone 🙂 It means a lot to me!

Anyway, I went to the Clothes Show Live for the 9th year in a row this weekend! I went on Saturday 8th December, and it was totally rammed with people. Please remind me next year to go on a weekday! I went with Terri, and we got there at about midday, collected our press passes, and then took to the NEC Hall to spend some monies. Unfortunately I didn’t take any photo’s in the hall itself, but Laura has kindly allowed me to use a few of here photos to show you what it was like!

 There were lots of well known brands and also a few lesser known. The most popular stalls were probably Barry M and Models Own, which is usually the case every year! They do good value goody bags, which I took advantage of, as do many other beauty sellers. The beauty section is always my favourite as they have really good offers and deals on, and I like discovering new brands. 

The clothes side was a bit of a let down for me, I didn’t buy any clothes from the Clothes Show. It was all slightly market-y and poor quality but high prices. I’ve also noticed how some of the slightly more upmarket brands seem to have abandoned the Clothes Show over the years, leaving a pretty much unbranded Clothes Show market.

Although the quality of the sellers goes a bit downhill, and the prices still seem to steeply increase. I used to be able to buy pretty dresses for £5-£10 each. This year they started at £15, but most were £25+. Also, some stalls are just not prepared for the amount of visitors and often sell out of things on the first day! I still think it’s a fun day out, even though the ticket price seems steep for me. 

What makes it worthwhile for me though is the actual fashion show in the theatre. Again, this year was a bit of a let down as the theme was dull and extremely predictable, as they basically told you what to expect for the show within the first few minutes. Also the graphics and props weren’t up to much this year either.. as Terri described it as ‘Powerpoint style graphics’ and props of three empty chairs. But the music and dancing is always a bit of fun and it makes for a good afternoon after a bit of shopping! Be prepared to see lots of gorgeously toned women and muscley men without much on! The models and dancers are fantastic and they are definately the highlight of my day! Here are a few of my own photos from the event. Here’s what I bought. I didn’t buy a huge amount, and it was all beauty product. 

 A Miss Patisserie cupcake bath bomb, £3. They had a huge selection of these to choose from in these cute little gift boxes!

W7 cosmetics were offering any 5 of their items for only £10! I tried to pick the more higher valued items, which were the Photo Shoot 16 hour foundation, Camera Ready brightening primer, a lip brush, blue glitter polish, and a very pink powder blusher. I thought this was a great deal and they had tonnes of stock to choose from!

 On Friday, the Models Own stand was doing any three nail polishes for £10 with a free goody bag. However, when I went on Saturday they were only doing two polishes for £10! So I was a bit pissed off and it was a bit of a rip off but I guess they must have been selling out so quickly! Anyway I picked up two more glitter polishes, including the Clothes Show Live special edition. 

The goody bag was really good this year, and it came with some really good products! Including a nail file buffer, bubblegum lip balm. two eye shadow dusts, an eyeliner, a lip liner, 4 eyeshadow applicators, a nail clipper, a black liquid eyeliner, a pink lipgloss, and a black nail art pen! Not bad all for a tenner. 

 This little bundle of goodies was only £3 from the Company magazine stand. It included some sweets, a couple of sachet samples, 3 Rimmel eyeshadows, a sample sized Palmers lotion, a mini Batiste dry shampoo, Kleenex shine sheets, and an Opi black shatter nail polish! It also included some disgusting coconut water and yummy crisps but I ate those 🙂
