Packing for Leeds Festival ♥

So this blog post is a couple of weeks late.. sorry about that! I’ve been insanely busy since getting back from Leeds Festival over the bank holiday weekend, and today is the first chance I’ve had to upload some photos. So.. Terri and I went to Leeds festival for the second year running (see last years adventures here) as we were super lucky that the amazing people at Popcorn Outdoor picked Terri as a winner of a pair of guest tickets. I’ll be doing a separate blog post with photos from the actual festival, but for now here’s what I took along with me, because festival packing is stressful!

Having learnt from issues last year, the first thing we needed to sort out was a waterproof tent, and our 4 man £20 tent from
Tesco was a clear winner, as it kept us warm and dry successfully. We
clearly weren’t the only ones looking for a tent on a budget, as
practically every other tent in the campsite was the same one, which
almost lead to me trying to get in the wrong tent a couple of
times..oops! We also picked up some foam roll mats from B&M for a few quid each to sleep on, and we used our sleeping bags from last year. We also packed some torches and little electric light up lanterns too. Our camping equipment was all ready! 

I also learnt from last year not to over pack. Last year I took loads of stuff and ended up wearing the same two things. So this year I packed much less clothing, and kept my bits and pieces to a minimum. Clothing wise, I took a thick jumper, a couples of throw on dresses, a coord, a polo top, a skirt, tights, leggings, a snood, and a quilted jacket. This was enough to get me though the four days of bipolar weather, which ranged from boiling hot sunshine to freezing winds and a bit of rain. 

Festival essentials I packed included:

• Wellies (obviously)
• Long/thick socks – to wear under your wellies and at bed time
• Waterproof coat – I took a little polka dot mac in a bag which I bought years ago from Home Bargains for £3, but luckily we didn’t get caught in any rain!
•  Snacks – Terri and I packed a massive bag of food to keep us going throughout the weekend. The best bits were Pom Bears, cereal bars, Milky Ways, and Ritz crackers. 
• Drink – As well as a water bottle to keep hydrated, we also took some booze along with us so we didn’t have to pay the crazy festival prices! You’re not allowed to take glass bottles into the festival, so cocktails in bags worked well. Don’t forget your plastic cups! 
•  Wet wipes/tissues/plasters – These are all needed to ensure a little bit of cleanliness, and the plasters were a lifesaver for me as my wellies rubbed the backs of my feet!
• Make up, toiletries and mirror – I took minimal make up along with me, and also a travel mirror which is actually quite big and only 99p from Home Bargains! I also took my Balance Me face moisturiser, as well as mini sized hairspray and dry shampoo to help maintain my hair a little.
• Portable battery charger – Smart phones never last long on their battery, and being in a field means it’s impossible to charge up your phone (unless you pay crazy prices). So I took along a  Energizer Portable Power Smartphone Charger which helped to keep my phone juice topped up. 
•  Glasses/sunglasses – If you’re eyesight is pretty poor like mine, no doubt you wouldn’t be able to see what was going on on stage at the festival, so glasses are essential. Although I normally refrain from wearing glasses at all times except for driving, I needed to take a pair along with me to Leeds Fest, so I took my normal glasses with me, as well as some prescription Ray Ban sunglasses. I’ve had my normal glasses for a few months now, and I think I’ve finally found a pair that I don’t mind wearing out in public.
