Very Vintage Dress from Your Vintage Life ♥

I was invited to take part in the Marks & Spencers Very Vintage challenge, where fashion bloggers show off their favourite vintage dress. My favourite vintage piece is this retro 70’s dress from Your Vintage Life.
Your Vintage Life is run by Kate and Adam, who live in the same small village as me in Bedfordshire. They sell a massive range of vintage goods, including fashion, furniture and homewares. If you’re local to the Milton Keynes or Bedford area, check out the new Vintage Bedford & MK blog site that Kate has recently created.
This gorgeous navy blue prairie dress is an original from the 70’s, and it has been reworked to make it more wearable for the modern day. It has gorgeous white floral embroidery down the front and the sleeves of the dress which I just love. I also love the scooped neckline, floaty chiffon fabric, and flared skater skirt. I chose this as my favourite vintage dress because it has a flattering fit, and I love the shape and style of this pretty dress.
So here are some photo’s of me in my wonderful vintage dress! I took them in our back garden and tried to cast a vintage style atmosphere with a few props for the photos. The suitcases are from the 50’s and were handed down to me from my grandparents. I love the brown wooden trunk one. The teacups are Royal Albert, taken from my growing collection of vintage china that I buy from antique shops. And the vintage leather navy handbag w

as a recent bargain charity shop purchase! The blue cameo ring I’m wearing is a vintage piece but I’ve no idea how old it is, I bought it from an old lady at a carboot sale for £1, I love it! Sorry for my miserable squinty face in these photo’s, I had very bad hayfever and the humid weather was making it bad 🙁

M&S sell lots of gorgeous timelessly stylish dresses, but I love this one, and I can imagine it being ‘vintage’ and still wearable in 30+ years time. I love lace, and I think it can be transferred from decade to decade, and it isn’t specific to one era. It’s so classical, and the cream colour is neutral, perfect for any occasion.
What’s your favourite vintage item? Don’t forget to check out Your Vintage Life for lots more great pieces!
