I don’t really know why, but over the last month I have literally become obsessed with everything velvet! But unfortuantely I’ve had trouble tracking some of the lovely soft stuff on the high street, so I’ve taken to my old friend eBay to get my hands on some! I may have taken the obsession a little too far with suddently getting 11 velvet pieces, but I just think that velvet is so perfect for winter and it reminds me of Christmas time. So here’s what I’ve got! Not everything is on the below photo, but I’ve got individual real life pics to show you too!
So first of all, shoes. I got these cute little ballet shoes in black velvet with a big chiffon bow on the front. They’re so cute! These were only £10 from Matalan.
I also got these boots from Matalan, which are maybe more suede than velvet, but they still have a velvety texture! I love these so much and have worn them tonnes already. They have a nice rubber wedge and lace up at the front, perfect for everyday wear.
These velvety boots are from Lovely Shoes, and I will be doing a more detailed post on them very soon! They are AMAZING! So comfy and the bow gives it a cute girly edge 🙂 And only approx £10!
Now onto dresses, I bought this Mela Loves London black velvet dress from eBay for 99p. Unfortunately it’s a little bit too short for me, so it’s now for sale on my eBay!
This is probably my favourite velvet item 🙂 It’s originally a New Look dress from last winter that sold for £30. I bought it on eBay last week for only £6! And it is so gorgeous! The colour is just stunning and I always love a skater dress! It’s just perfect and I love it 🙂
Another eBay purchase, this skater dress is originally from Topshop and sold for £30. It’s a gorgeous red wine colour! I was really, really lucky with this. This dress seems to be ridiculously popular on eBay and sells for around £25 even though its a couple of years old. I kept getting outbid on a few dresses as I wasn’t prepared to pay that much. However, someone listed this for Buy It Now £7 and it was in my size! LUCKY!
I’ve already showed you this dress, I got it in the New Look sale for £6 a month ago. Bargain! It has a velvet bodice and skirt, and then a mesh top half and sleeves. Very gothic glam!
This is a black velvet skater skirt I bought off eBay a while ago, but I’m now reselling it on eBay as I now have enough velvet! You can buy it from me here 🙂
This red velvet skirt was sent to me by She Inside, so I will be doing an outfit post with it in soon! It’s a gorgeous deep red. As it’s from an Asian fashion site, their sizes are a little small, and this skirt was one size only. It was a little bit tight for me, but I cut a small slit into the waistband, removed the elastic, and sewed up the hole, now it fits perfect! Perfect for Christmas time.
Basically the same skirt as above, but this is in a gorgeous indigo blue, and it was sent to me from OASAP.
This skirt I bought off eBay also. It’s by Topshop and is a very dark brown, almost black colour. I bought it for £3 but I think I will resell it as it’s a little bit large for me. So keep an eye on my eBay if you like this!
Phew.. that’s it for all my new velvet! Am I mad?
Do you like velvet? Whats your favourite trend right now?

Those lace up shoes from Matalan are wonderful! I seen them on the website yesterday and ran right out to buy them – they are so comfy!
Really loving the black New Look dress 🙂
I love velvet so much! I want to get a skirt this year, I bought a lovely red velvet dress from primark but it no longer fits, so gutted 🙁 you got some lovely pieces xx
How did I miss this post? I friggin NEED that burgundy skirt!! x
how did the boots fit you? i'm thinking of ordering the same ones, they are so nice, but i'm wondering what size to get… the website has a conversion chart but when they refer to something as 'china size' I'm not sure how accurate it is. I'm a large 6 (sometimes a 7) but I'm tempted to order what they call an 8 just to be sure. I've ordered shoes from asia before and they were tiny!
