Today has been pretty chilly, but it’s only going to be getting colder, so me and my Dad went for a little walk to make the most of our Sunday before it’s too cold to go outside. We strolled around a little nature reserve in our village which was full of trees with bright coloured leaves. I needed to wrap up warm as there was a cold breeze, so I tried a bit of English Heritage country bumpkin styling and wore my new boots and gilet on top of a pretty tea dress and a woolly jumper. And no winter walk is complete without a nice warm drink, and this floral flask from DotComGiftShop would make a perfect Christmas gift for any stylish outdoor enthusiast. I love the pretty rose print!
I’m pretty much in love with this outfit, which is mainly down to my new Barbour boots! I was sent this Hoxton pair from Cloggs and I fell in love the moment they arrived. They’re so beautiful, but the main thing that makes me love them is that they are the most amazing quality and so comfortable. They are part of the Barbour Heritage collection, and they’re knee high and made from a thick quilted canvas which keeps my legs nice and toasty! They also come in black, but I prefer the brown pair as they look a little bit more ‘countryside farmer’ rather than ‘hardcore biker’.
The sole of the boots are made from really strong hard wearing rubber and they have a small heel, and I expect I will be wearing these for years to come as they are made to last. Admittedly when I first tried them on I had a bit of a sulk because I couldn’t do the zip all the way up because of my larger-than-life calves. But after leaving them upzipped about an inch for my first wear, they now zip up fine, so they just needed a little bit of wearing in!
My new navy blue Joules gilet is amazingly warm, as it’s got really thick heavyweight padding, so it’s perfect for chilly days. It’s also got the most beautiful brightly coloured floral cotton lining on the inside, and ‘Joules’ embroidered on the back of the collar, and a little embroidered rabbit on the chest. I love how snug and warm it keeps me! It was perfect to wear over my knitted jumper and Warehouse dress, and I really like the navy and burgundy colours of the whole outfit. Even my new watch matches! But I’ll be showing that properly in another post 🙂
Do you think I can pull off the countryside look?
