The Wonderful World of AliExpress ♥

I’ve always been intrigued with buying things online from China from eBay. But my fascination has recently reached new levels as I’ve discovered the wonder that is AliExpress, the Chinese webstore. I posted a while ago about the faux Naked palette I bought for a few quid, which wasn’t great, but I still love to buy from China!

I don’t think I will bother with buying rubbish cosmetics again from abroad, but fashion stuff I love to buy from China. Their designs are always so quirky and cute and there’s just so much choice on the website. Everything is insanely cheap and almost always has free shipping! Here’s some of my most recent Ali Express purchases…

These floral heeled shoes got a tonne of love on Instagram! I bought them as I found them when I was browsing for shoes to wear to Liams pass out parade. I think these may be the ones I wear, but even if I don’t wear them for that occasion they make a nice decorative feature in my dressing room! I bought them for only £13.50 including delivery, and they arrived in a speedy 10 days. I love the floral print and the nude patent detail, and they even come with removable ankle straps.

Hopefully me and Terri are heading to Leeds fest again this year, and as last year we got soaking wet one evening, I thought it would be a good idea to prepare a bit better this time. Terri actually found this clear raincoat online first (see her beautifully modelling hers) and I copied her.. we shall be twins! I like it because you can still dress snazzy underneath and it would be visible (and it has bear ears on the hood!) and only £7.

Again, Terri found this bag first and I decided I liked hers so much that I bought it in a different colour! It’s clearly a faux Viv bag, but it’s so small yet spacious that the branding doesn’t really matter anyway. It’s still a nice bag, and it comes with both a long strap and a wrist strap; also only £7.
I bought this strawberry print skirt but to be honest I hate it and will sell it on. It’s a horrible thin satiny fabric but I liked the print on it. I think it’s meant to be a version of a Black Milk design, and it was £6.
Again I couldn’t resist the novelty of fruity fashion; I bought this watermelon handbag for my holiday. But I didn’t realise the clear bit was actually 100% clear, I thought it was see through but hot pink plastic. So you can literally see whatever you have in the bag and then you don’t recognise it’s a watermelon. I paid £6 for this.
Probably my favourite purchase of them all, this ‘Marc Jacobs’ watch. It comes in loads of colours, but I picked white, which I now regret slightly as it’s now filthy. But I think it actually looks pretty decent, and it works well as a watch.. so £5 well spent!

They also have some nice looking Michael Kors looking rose gold watches, but I think I’d rather buy the real thing!

I bought this beautiful cream lace cardigan almost a year ago for £8, but it’s only recently that I’ve dug it out, and I’ve been pretty much wearing it non-stop. It’s perfect for wearing over dresses and it’s such a pretty piece! It’s still online to buy now.

Do you buy from abroad?

  9. I'm always put off purchasing from abroad just in case something doesn't fit or is bad quality so I love posts like this which give a better view of what's available. I love that clear raincoat. I really like that skirt too, it's a shame the fabric isn't great.
