I know loads of fashion savvy shoppers hate shopping in the sales on the high street, but as I like to think of myself as a bit of a bargain hunter; I love it! If you have patience to look through rails of ridiculous things in unpopular sizes whilst being elbowed by fellow cheapskates then it can be a treasure trove of goodies.
I can see why this may be not very desirable though… But as I get quite a buzz out of sale shopping, I will always look through the sale rails, and here are some of the bargains I’ve picked up in the sales lately. Unfortunately because these things are end of line, some things are no longer available to purchase anymore, but I just wanted to show you can get some great buys in the sale!
I found these black suede ankle boots in H&M sitting on their own on the shelves. They were the only pair there and didn’t have a price on them, and they just so happened to be my size. I took them to the counter, and they said they were originally £29.99 but were reduced to only £9.99! I loved these and they were so comfortable, although unfortunately I wore them to death quite quickly and wrecked the sole of the shoe. But in true money-saving fashion I took them back to H&M and they offered me a new similar (and much more sturdy) pair.. result!
I love these skirts, especially the monochrome checked one. They remind me slightly of 60’s styles, and I find them really easy to wear. I bought them both from Select (they have really good sales!) for only £6 for the checked one and £8 for the plain one. I love them for work and I like the exposed zip detail on them both.
Also from Select, this cute blue floral dress with Peter Pan collar was in the sale for only £8 (was £14.99) and I’ve worn it quite a few times already. I’ve worn it for work as well as weekend days out as I think it’s quite a smart style and a good length, but also has a fun print which I love the colours of.
I love wearing tapestry in winter! It’s perhaps a little bit grannyish but I really love tapestry garments and although I already have a skater dress very similar I couldn’t resist this skirt half price and only £7. It’s quite short once it’s on, but I love wearing it with thick tights and winter boots.
Finally from the Select sale I also bought these two skater skirts for winter. The burgundy velvet one was reduced to only £4, and the rose print one was £6. I love the deep red colour on both of them, and I especially like the print on the rose skirt. I often wear velvet in the colder months, and the rose skirt is made from quite a thick fabric which should keep my thunder thighs cosy.
I think I’ve mentioned before my love for longline bras to reduce to back fat bulge, but they can be quite rare to find in high street shops, and can often be pricey. Luckily I found two in the sales which were both extremely cheap, and also quite pretty! The white satin bra
is from New Look and was reduced from £14.99 to only £6, and the floral and lace one is from M&S (they will always do the best undies). The M&S bra from the set was only £6 (RRP £17.50) also, but they also had the matching panties for only £2 (RRP £7.50), so got the set for only £8!
I don’t often shop in Debenhams, but as I was browsing their website I saw they had a sale on and I had a quick look at the dresses. I found this adorable textured skater dress with black heart print all over. It was originally £28 but was half price so got it for £14, and although I wouldn’t spend ‘that much’ on a dress normally, I do love it! And if you’re looking to save a little bit extra in Debenhams, then check out Codesium
; as they have plenty of discount codes available. Currently they have a 10% off £40 spend code, as well as free delivery offers!
H&M sales are usually always really good, but I’ve not found much in there recently. But I did find this cute basic cami vest with lace trip, which was on the sale rail for only £5.
And finally, I bought this Cath Kidston bucket bag from their outlet shop in St Neots recently, which was reduced to only £22.50! Normally they are £45 so just had to get this one, and I love the rose print and the colours, which I think is perfect for winter and with my red coat! They have a few in the sale on their website too.
