Moving out of my parents house for the first time was a big step for me but I’m proud of how well I’ve managed. If anything, life is much simpler! And quieter.. I love how peaceful my new home is despite it being in a more central location and my parents house was in a sleepy village. I’ve already shared with you my bedroom and kitchen room tours, so this is the dining room edition! I say dining room, it’s not actually a separate room, more of a dining ‘area’ on one side of the living room next to the…

So it’s been over a year since I moved into my own place after living at home for 26 years! I was never one of these people that was ‘ashamed’ about living at home even though I was in my twenties; it made sense for me. I was lucky to get on really well with my parents, I had my own space and freedom, and the financial outgoings were minimal. Living at home whilst working full time allowed me to save a chunk of my wages every month to put towards a deposit, but I still didn’t think I’d ever…

Going out for a tasty afternoon tea in a cute little tea room or glamorous hotel is one of my favourite pastimes. But most places charge at least £20 each (or in excess of £30 each in London!), so it can add up to be a slightly expensive experience. However I am a big fan of throwing my own afternoon tea parties at home. Any excuse for a tea party and I’m on it; baby shower, birthday celebration, a girlie catch up with friends… anything that calls for cake! There are so many benefits to throwing your own afternoon tea…

I’ve already shown you around most of my home and in my last home blog post I shared all of the before and after photos of my flat since I bought and redecorated it. Now I’ve finally got round to taking some photos of the bathroom, so here’s a room tour of my little bathroom! It was probably the room that required the most work doing to it as when I moved in it was in need of a good freshen up, so that’s why I haven’t shared many photos of it yet! We started the mini makeover by cleaning…

Yesterday I invited a couple of friends round for a little get together at my place. Gavin was out for the day so I had planned a girlie day in and a surprise Easter themed craft-ernoon tea party! My friend is pregnant so it was kind of a mini baby shower for her as well as a nice little catch up! I had a little Easter tea party at my parents house for family a few years ago and I really enjoyed putting it all together, so I decided to do a similar thing again this time around. It was a little bit tougher…

So I got the keys to my flat in September 2017 (which already feels like forever ago) and today I came across the original estate agent photos of the place, and I was so surprised by how different it looks now! These are the photos that were on RightMove and I remember when I first saw it I thought it looked okay but perhaps little bit small and in need of a make over, but other than that seemed suitable. The flat was the first (and only!) viewing that I did and although the online photos didn’t do the place…
