My Recent Thrift Shop Haul – Including Calvin Klein Skirt ♥

Hello ladies! I’m sure most of you know I love a to bag a good bargain and a root around in a second hand shop. You can find some right gems, and you know what they say.. one mans trash is anothers treasure! Nothing makes me feel better than finding a good bargain, and knowing it’s preloved makes it that bit more special.

Waste can be a big environmental problem these days so it’s always nice to know you’re ‘rescuing’ an item from the landfill and reusing it instead. And charity shops also have the extra bonus because as well as getting yourself a good deal, you get a feel-good factor knowing that the money is going to a good cause. Although I’m not sure whether to feel good that the old lady in one of the shops said to her colleague ‘the little girl would like to pay now’ – referring to me, I’m 22!

As part of the MoneySupermarket ‘What’s in your Pocket’ blogger challenge, I was given £20 to go and make myself feel good, so I hit the thrift shops and bought some right beauties! Here’s what I picked up..

These two stunning brooches were only £2 each from a real antiques shop. I couldn’t decide which one I preferred so I had to get both! I’ve always wanted a genuine cameo brooch and this one has a pretty salmon coloured background and a pearl edging. The other one is larger and has an array of flowers and pearls on a gold coloured brooch. I think these will brighten up any modern outfit and give it a vintage twist.

This
cute floral tea cup and saucer trio in pretty pastel shades was only
£2.50 for the set from a second hand market stall seller. It’s made in
England but isn’t worth a lot, but it sure is a pretty addition to my
collection. I have bought so many tea cups from charity shops over the last year I’m not sure what to do with them all! I don’t even drink tea! But they’re so pretty… 

I love this little cutie! On the left is a new little kitsch deer I picked up from a charity shop for only 60p. She goes quite nicely with my other retro deer ornament which I bought off eBay. They’re so cute and a little bit quirky! I keep them on my bedroom shelf with some of my favourite tea cups.. granny chic!

This might be my favourite thing I bought! This new Lana Del Rey album was sitting in Oxfam for only £1.99! This was only released last year so I can only imagine someone must have got it twice for Christmas or something! I love Lana and listen to her album again and again on Spotify so now I can enjoy her in the car too! What a find!

I also picked up this brand new Ellesse sports top for only £3. It’s perfect for me to go to the gym in, and there’s an almost identical one selling in Next for £20! So this will definitely make me feel good and hopefully help me to feel more confident after my fitness sessions.

The purple little wooden drawer set might seem a bit hideous and ugly, but from the moment I saw it I had some upcycling plans for it! It was only £1 and I thought its perfect for nick nacks, and I thought with a lick of paint it would be perfect for my bedroom! I sanded it down, painted it white, and then bought some new knobs for it for £2 from eBay! Isn’t it pretty now? Sorry about the bad photo. DIY and upcycling is another thing that makes me feel good! It’s nice to be proud of something you made with your own creativity.

And finally, I also got this Calvin Klein skirt for only £5! It’s gorgeous, although it’s labelled as a size 12 I wonder if it’s a US 12 as it’s quite large! It’s got a leather waistband and the skirt fabric is thick and textured. It was in a recent collection but I can’t find out much about it except for it was still being sold in November, and I imagine it would have been quite pricey! This left me with a smile on my face for the rest of the day! Mum couldn’t believe my bargain!
