Hi everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful long Easter weekend 🙂 Mine has been really good except on Saturday night I seem to have started to get a really bad cold/flu and spent Sunday and Monday with tissue up my nose. Sexy indeed. On Friday I went to a cupcake decorating class which was good and I will do a post about soon, and then I went off to Stoke on Trent again to visit Terri at her new place. We had a pretty awesome night out and then a lazy Saturday morning before I had to return home again.
Anyway this is what I wore on Easter Sunday. Put the paleness of my face down to the illness! The sun was shining and was looking pretty nice but when I went out into the garden to take these outfit photos it was literally Arctic! So I came back inside to take them in my bedroom as I wasn’t feeling up to facing the cold! I actually put some leggings on for the rest of the day under the dress after I took the photos! Excuse my pasty leg…
Dress: Celia Birtwell @ Uniqlo | Belt: Primark | Bag: Primark | Ring: eBay | Lipstick: Rimmel Apocalips Big Bang | Shoes: Bertie @ TK Maxx
This pretty navy dress (RRP £29.90) was sent to me last week from Uniqlo, and it has been designed by fashion designer Celia Birtwell. I don’t know much about her to be honest, but she is a British textile designer who is apparently an iconic figure on the global arts scene. Her designs have a 60’s and 70’s style to them, and this dress is part of the new collection at Uniqlo.
This dress has 3/4 length sleeves which are fastened with a little button, and it also has a tie up waist. It is navy blue with a little white star pattern all over. It also comes in black and a lovely bold green colour. It buttons up at the front, but I found that there wasn’t really enough buttons, as even though I don’t have a large chest, there was a gaping gap between each button, so I had to wear a vest underneath.
This dress is size medium, which I would have assumed would fit a size 12, but it’s quite huge on me. This made it difficult for me to style because the waist line was really low and when I made it higher it bunched up all the material. The pattern and style of the dress is really cute though, perfect for spring, I just wish I’d picked a smaller size! Doh.
Because it was looking nice and sunny on Sunday, I slipped on my beautiful new shoes from TK Maxx! I was kindly sent these from them to review, and I adore them! They are so comfortable and soft. They’re made from real leather, and they will be perfect for warm summer days. They are made by Bertie, who again I hadn’t heard of, but they are quite an expensive British footwear brand owned by Dune. They have a woven texture all over, and are ballerina pump style in tan with silver coloured edge. I absolutely love them! Their RRP is £55 but TK Maxx sell them for only £34.99 which I think is reasonable for real leather branded shoes. I’m sure I will get lots of use out of these over the summer!
