If you’re like me and are only just starting your Christmas shopping now in December, then you may be stuck for ideas. I probably should have started my Christmas shopping a little bit earlier, but luckily I don’t have too many people to buy for and I think I’m almost all sorted. Thank goodness for online shopping! I much prefer being in the comfort of my own home (in my onesie, obviously) than in town trying to find somewhere to park and then battling the crowds in stores. Most of my presents have been delivered now, although I feel so sorry for Mr Postman lugging everyone’s stuff around every morning! I need to start thinking about buying some Christmas wrapping paper, although I’m a lazy wrapper so maybe gift bags will be more suitable.
I like the idea of doing gift guides on my blog at Christmas time and this year I have 4 articles planned. The first one is Gift Ideas for Girls, and hopefully features some bright ideas for anyone struggling to find something for their sister/girlfriend/best girlie chum etc. Still to come I have posts planned on Gifts for Men, Stocking Fillers, and Pamper Hamper Gifts.
My first fail safe gift idea is of course fragrance. I think all ladies love perfumes, and the best thing about this time of year is that you can get some great deals on gift sets. These are usually the same price as buying the fragrance on it’s own, except you also get a body lotion/shower gel freebie plus a beautiful coffret box to present it in.
My favourite fragrance this season is Valentino Valentina
, which I’ve had a sample of in my handbag for a while and I just loved it. I’m so thrilled to now have a full size bottle and I can’t get enough of it! It’s such a beautiful bottle too, with pretty pale pink roses and a sleek bottle shape. The gift set also comes with a matching body lotion which is a lovely extra.
Jewellery is another gift I think you can’t go too wrong with. Jon Richard
do some stunning costume jewellery pieces (as above) as well as some more elegant sterling silver pieces. The statement rings are perfect for parties and special events (I’m planning on wearing one to my work Christmas do!). I love the square pendant necklace too, which I think I might wear on Christmas day.
Another fail safe gift idea, what girl doesn’t love flowers and chocolates?! Appleyard London do the most beautiful flower bouquets and they have an excellent Christmas flowers range to choose from. My Rose Envy bouquet was made up from a stunning mix of versilia roses, memory lane roses and deep red roses, nestled between glossy red berries and blue veronica. I love the red berries best of all; they really bring out the festive charm of the flowers and are perfect for this time of year.
Better still, this bouquet comes with a free box of Belgid’Or Chocolates.. sure to bring a smile to anyone’s face! They offer flower delivery all over the UK and they arrive in a stylish gift box complete with a personal message card, flower food and care instructions, and they’re guaranteed to last for at least 7 days.
I like keeping organised, and lately I’ve kept a notebook in my handbag so I can jot down all kinds of ideas, plans, and reminders. I love pretty stationery and this stunning brogue notebook
by Ted Baker is the perfect gift for any creative (or forgetful) girl. I use mine to write down blog ideas that pop into my head, as well as reminders of what products I need to photograph at weekends so I can keep my blog up to date.
This notebook has a beautiful classic design, and is A5 sized so it’s perfect to carry around. It has elegant gold gilding on the edges, two satin ribbon bookmarks and Ted Baker branded gold foiling along the spine. The inside paper is lined and also features pretty little birdies.
A wonderful and useful gift for any beauty fanatic; a full set of make up brushes is ideal. This pearlescent white set is by Nanshy, and all brushes have soft synthetic antibacterial bristles which makes them perfect for all skin types. The brand is also 100% vegan and cruelty free; no animal fur is used, and the products are approved by PETA.
This Masterful Collection
features professional quality brushes for eyes, face, and lips. The set includes 12 different essential brushes ranging from the large and exceptionally soft powder brush all the way down to the very fine liner brush. The set also includes a retractable silver lip brush too.
Receiving pyjamas for Christmas may sound dull to some but they’re literally always a winner with me! I find there’s nothing better than getting into some new fresh PJ’s after a nice warm bath and relaxing in bed with my iPad. This set of loungewear from South Beach isn’t necessarily for bed, but would be perfect for wearing on lazy days too.
The long sleeved Cutie Pie sweat top is made from an amazing super soft fabric and is so snug and warm! The lounge pants are a little bit like leggings as they’re quite fitted, but are equally soft and cosy, and are great for lounging in. The set is so comfortable to wear, and I love the cutie pie print.. who doesn’t love a slice of cake with a smiley face on!
I got these treats for one of my best friends, as she loves cute little shabby chic homewares for her new house. I think I always buy her something with owls on (I hope she likes owls!) and this year I’ve bought her this cute little set from BHS. The ceramic jar is by Sass and Belle and is perfect for keeping cotton wool or buds in, or pretty much anything!
I also bought her a cute owl shaped tealight holder, which I imagine will look pretty cool with a candle in it as the light shines through. There are loads of great online stores where you can buy cute little nik-naks from, some of my favourites are DotComGiftShop, Sass & Belle, Gifts & Pieces, and Lisa Angel.
And finally, my other favourite gift idea is underwear. Not anything super sexy and seductive, but you can get some really pretty and cute undies from shops like Boux Avenue
. And best of all they giftwrap their items beautifully for free in a pretty cardboard box and wrapped in pink lacey paper. It make’s it a lovely gift to give to someone and as it looks extra special. Their knickers are 3 for £12, and includes a choice of pretty lacey ones as well as cosy festive pairs.
