| I made this for my birthday back in July! I forgot to show you at the time, but I wanted to make a teapot shaped cake and this is how it ended up!
I’m so
pleased with how everything has gone. I had most of my orders over
Valentines, Mother’s Day and Christmas, and I also did a super cute
Easter range! In between those events I was doing random birthday orders
here and there on weekends. With Valentine’s Day coming up, couples are
finding more interesting ways to woo their other half, and novelty cakes have been a great alternative!
Many of us love staying in now, as
opposed to going out in the cold and crowds. Netflix should be well and
truly on with a hot cup of coco and some delicious snacks on the side. A
low-key Valentine’s Day with your favourite boxset, pigging out in
front of the telly! Perfect. I also did my first ever wedding order
not long back!
It
was just a small wedding so I made 30 cupcakes with the bride and grooms
initials inside little hearts made in the colours of her bouquet to
really suit the theme. Making cakes for a wedding is stressful! But I
really loved being a part of someone’s special day and the lucky lady
was really happy with her cakes, which she used as a centrepiece for her
buffet snacks. Yes, the pressure is high to please the happy couple on
their Big Day, but it’s so rewarding when you’ve done it.
If I’m
ever too busy to fulfil someone’s wedding order, there’s a great
suppliers list on weddingsite.co.uk which finds other local suppliers.
It lists companies and their contact details for all your wedding needs,
including cakes. I recommend that brides book their wedding cakes as
soon as possible, as bakers books fill up so quickly! Weddings
are so indulgent and it’s great to play such an important part. As well
as the organising of the venue, dress, flowers and all those over little
details, the online tools are so important.. stops you turning into
such a Bridezilla!

Wish you lived closer, you could do my wedding cupcakes! I want something in your lovely, simple style but around here people charge as much for that as they do the intricate stuff!! xx
Glad it's all going well for you! Your cakes always look so amazing and pretty, wish I lived nearer, I'd definitely buy some 🙂

They look delicious! You are a very talented young lady 🙂
How adorable are your cakes?! I love that you have your own style – so many companies offer similar looking cupcakes nowadays and you offer something that's unique and still a bit quirky. The pastel cupcakes are my fave 🙂 And I'm now hungry…
If you are having to turn down orders, why not work part time and do more of this? Theres only one way of knowing if this could be a paid career choice for you and pleanty of people make alot of money baking cakes, you could even try selling on a market stall?
What do you use to make your letters?
