As the leaves turn red and the air crisps with the promise of winter, it’s time to embrace the beauty of autumn! And what better way to enjoy the season than with a visit to a pumpkin patch? I visited The Patch MK in Milton Keynes which is always such a joy to visit at this time of year.
Here’s the outfit I put together with Very.co.uk to make sure I was pumpkin patch ready!

Cosy layers
Layering is key when it comes to autumn fashion, so I wore this Barbour International black denim dress layered with a long sleeved top underneath. I really love this dress – the button-front gives it a slightly retro look, and it’s so versatile.
You could also wear this dress with a stripey t-shirt underneath, a chunky knit jumper over the top, or just wear it on it’s own! I really like wearing this rich burgundy colour at this time of year, and the ribbed texture and frill detailing gives the outfit a subtle feminine touch.
Classic country style
When it comes to autumn outerwear, the Barbour Classic Beadnell Wax Jacket is an icon. The waxed cotton finish repels moisture and gives a vintage aesthetic. I really love this jacket, and I love that the tailored fit gives a flattering silhouette that you wouldn’t expect from a practical coat.
It has multiple handy pockets, a corduroy collar, and cold weather friendly lining to keep you nice and toasty when things get chilly. It’s perfect for wearing in autumn and winter as it keeps you protected from the damp weather and rain.
Accessorize
When it comes to accessories, practicality meets style with the Barbour Contin cross body bag. Its compact size means you can carry your essentials easily, and the adjustable strap allows for a customizable fit. The classic Barbour logo and tartan fabric adds a touch of heritage elegance, and there’s a handy zipped security pocket inside too. This bag was perfect for me to use for a trip to the pumpkin patch as it was big enough for my phone, keys, and a small purse.
Seasonal footwear
To complete this outfit, I wore a pair of chunky black Rocket Dog chelsea boots. I also have these boots in another colour, and they’re my go-to winter boot! They’re so comfy and stylish and can be worn with so many different looks. The chunky sole adds a trendy edge and I feel like a chelsea boot will never go out of style. Perfect for stomping around muddy pumpkin fields!
