I was recently invited to eat, drink and get cosy at The Five Bells country pub in Weston Turville near Aylesbury. We took a drive down there on a rather wet and glum Sunday afternoon and were instantly welcomed into this cute typically English village pub. The Five Bells has recently undergone a big refurbishment with a whole new look and updated menu so we were looking forward to seeing what they had to offer. The Five Bells was built in 1854 and oozes rural charm and rustic character. There are lots of exposed bricks, fireplaces, wooden beams, and antlers…

I was recently invited to visit the newly refurbished gastro pub called The Lazy Pig in the Pantry in the market town of Chesham in Buckinghamshire. We were so lucky that the day we visited was the hottest weekend of the year so we chose to sit outside so we could enjoy the beautiful sunshine! The pub features a mix of contemporary and traditional décor which brings the outdoors indoors with lots of stylish tropical accents, plant features and fancy accessories throughout the interior. There is a variety of different places to sit, but my favourite part of the restaurant…

Last month I was kindly invited to check out the new Marriott hotel in Oxford. The Courtyard by Marriott hotel is located south of the city centre in Abingdon, which was just a short drive south from Oxford itself. It’s also within reach of Bicester Village shopping outlet and many of The Cotswolds villages, so it’s an ideal location to explore the local Oxfordshire area. Oxford Oxford is one of the most popular places in the UK to visit, so we we’re looking forward to exploring the city as I’d never properly been before. Unfortunately the weather was bitterly cold…

It’s quite fun to set up and put it all together too! Any excuse for me to whip out my vintage china collection and cake stands! I have quite a small dining room table but it was big enough to…

I’d seen on Twitter that a new cat cafe called Shakespaw Cat Cafe opened its doors in Stratford Upon Avon last month, so I was desperate to visit! You have to book online in advance, but I was lucky to grab a lunchtime spot the day before we were due to visit. Entry is £5 each which you pay when you book, and this allows you 90 minutes in the cafe with all…
