I’m quite a frugal spender – I like to shop but I try to keep my purchases small and low cost to enable me to save as much money as possible. My flat is currently up for sale and we’re hoping to buy a house together soon, which means saving up as much as we can to add to our deposit! Everyone has their own ways of spending and saving their hard earned cash, but here are a few things that work for me personally: Savings Accounts Lets start with something boring – bank accounts! I have both a current…

If you’re looking for something family friendly to do over the Easter break, then why not host an Easter themed afternoon tea party? I recently invited some of my girlfriends round for my own afternoon tea with lots of yummy treats! It’s great way to catch up with family or friends and is easier than cooking up a big meal. It’s quite fun to set up and put it all together too! Any excuse for me to whip out my vintage china collection and cake stands! I have quite a small dining room table but it was big enough to…

I am proud to say that I was born in Milton Keynes and I even bought my first home here (and will be staying in MK when I buy my next place!). It’s a really unique town – I absolutely love it here and I can’t imagine ever living anywhere else to be honest. Milton Keynes is sometimes mocked by those who have never actually visited – but there’s plenty more to the town than just concrete cows and roundabouts (although there are over 130)! It might not be the first place you think of when planning a weekend away,…

Spring has officially arrived which means it’s the perfect time to de-clutter! With the return of every springtime, I feel re-energised and ready to refresh my life. It’s a great opportunity to give your life a spring clean and clear some space in your home and mind. Sometimes it’s easy to fall into an bad routine and clutter can come in all shapes and sizes including toxic friendships, unpaid bills, bad health habits as well as an untidy home. This is by no means a ‘life guru’ type post, but more of my own personal to-do list, so I thought…

A couple of weekends ago (when it was the hottest February on record!) we went for a lovely little weekend away to Norfolk. I love exploring the UK, and we were kindly invited to stay at Woodlakes Park; a log cabin holiday park with fishing lakes set within 66 acres of rural parkland. The park is located near to Stowbridge in King’s Lynn, but the nearest town is Downham Market which is a short drive away. The north Norfolk coast is only a 45 minute drive away and the Royal Estate of Sandringham is even closer. I’d never stayed in…

Merlin (my beautiful, fluffy ragdoll cat) is almost 7 years old! It still feels like only yesterday that we picked him up from the breeder and he was so tiny. I knew from our first moment that we would be best of friends, which sounds awfully cheesy, but it’s so true. And I’m not alone; according to the Petplan Pet Census 2018, 41% of owners refer to their pet as their best friend, and 44% call their pet their “baby”.. which I’m also guilty of! Merlin has grown into quite the handsome big boy – he was such a tiny…
