This blog post has been in the pipeline for a couple of months now as I went on my dream holiday to Jamaica back in June, but I just hadn’t yet got round to going through all my photos! I took so many! I’ve narrowed it down so there’s hopefully not too many photos in this blog post, but I just had so many stunning ones to share with you. We decided to go to Jamaica as we wanted to try somewhere in the Caribbean that we hadn’t been before, but that was also affordable. The Hotel Riu Ocho Rios…

I was recently invited to stay at Chicheley Hall, a gorgeous Grade I listed English country house just outside of Milton Keynes. The 18th century Baroque style mansion is home to 48 rooms, a restaurant and a bar all set within 80 acres of beautifully kept grounds. Its secluded countryside location offers the perfect respite from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Bedroom After checking in at reception we went to find our room, the Cartwright suite, which is part of the original Grade I listed part of the house. The suite is a stunning large room with solid…

Last month we went out for Gavin’s birthday dinner to a pub fairly local to us but one that we’d not been to before. The Wheatsheaf in Bow Brickhill is just outside of Milton Keynes and is part of the Heroic Pubs group who also run the Knife and Cleaver in Houghton Conquest, Bedfordshire. The pub underwent a substantial refurbishment last year and I was excited to visit after hearing so much about it! Although it looks like a cute little village pub from the outside, inside is actually a sleek and modern interior with an open kitchen and stylish…

I’ve always been a big fan of Ted Baker and I’ve been eyeing up their gorgeous watch collection for a while now. A watch isn’t always just about being purely functional; it’s also a fashion piece and the perfect accessory to personalise your look. Having a gorgeous watch adds the finishing touch to any outfit and that’s why I just love this Rose Gold Ted Baker watch that I was kindly sent from First Class Watches! This watch in particular caught my eye as the rose gold case is very on trend and it looks elegant and feminine. The beautifully…

I was recently invited to try out the trendy, nostalgic Cosy Club restaurant in Coventry. I’d tried out the Cosy Club in Stamford a few years ago and absolutely loved the food and the atmosphere, so I was really looking forward to visiting the Coventry branch! I’d never been to Coventry before, despite it only being 30 minutes away from me on the train from Milton Keynes, so it was nice to have a little day out somewhere new! Before we went for lunch at the Cosy Club, we walked around the shops in the town centre and visited the…

To get into the festive spirit, earlier this month Gavin and I took a day trip to Birmingham to visit the Christmassy sights. I used to go to university in Birmingham (many moons ago now!) so I always enjoy visiting the city to see if anything has changed and what’s new. On our trip we visited the Christmas Market, the Christmas Illuminated Lights Trail at the Botanical Gardens, and then went to the Broadway Casino Restaurant for dinner. German Christmas Market When I was a student I always liked having a look around the German Christmas Market on New Street…
