Review: Pasha Turkish Restaurant, Bletchley

There’s not a huge selection of independent restaurants and eateries in Milton Keynes, but I’ve recently discovered some local gems including Pasha. Pasha is a Turkish restaurant and bar based on Buckingham Road in Bletchley and only opened in September. However it is already proving very popular having received almost all five star reviews on Trip Advisor!

I recently visited Pasha along with my parents and we were warmly greeted upon arrival by the very welcoming staff. We were offered our table which was situated in a nicely decorated and clean dining room, and once seated we were given the menu to browse.

Whilst we were reading through the menu choices, we were also provided with a complimentary board which included flatbread served with a tomato and chilli dipping sauce, olives, and crumbled feta cheese. My Mum enjoyed the homemade chilli sauce so much, our very attentive waiter kindly brought her another to go with her main course!

To drink my Mum opted for a Turkish drink called Uludağ Gazoz in orange flavour as recommended by our waiter. It’s basically a fizzy orange Fanta but with more flavour (I wish I had ordered that now.. it was so refreshing!).

Their menu is full of delicious authentic Turkish options including a selection of hot and cold meze, grilled meats, seafood dishes, vegetarian options, and specials. All of their meat is freshly prepared on site by experienced chefs using locally sourced 100% British meat, and everything is fresh and cooked to order.

Talking of fresh food.. check out our sharing starter! We decided to order a hot and cold meze selection to share between three of us and we were certainly not disappointed, there was something to suit everyone.

The sharing meze included big chunks of halloumi cheese, Turkish sausage, falafel, houmous, tzatziki, fish, salad, calamari and more! It was all perfectly prepared and beautifully presented and I was so impressed with the variety of food.

It was so nice to enjoy a fresh starter that wasn’t heavy and carb loaded like I usually opt for when I go out for dinner. Sometimes a starter can leave me feeling full up, but I definitely recommend giving this a try!

After thoroughly enjoying our starter we were looking forward to trying our main courses. All three of us ordered something different so that we could try bit of each others as there were just so many tempting choices!

I went for the Chicken a la Crème which was juicy grilled chicken with lots of mushrooms in a creamy spinach and garlic sauce, served with salad and rice. Chicken isn’t something I would usually pick when I eat out but I’m so glad I tried something different as it was deliciously creamy. They even kindly let me take home my leftovers in a doggy bag so I enjoyed it for lunch the next day too!

My Mum chose the kleftiko which is a lamb shank oven cooked and infused with garlic, peppers and onions, and was served on mashed potato. The shank was juicy and a very generous size, and the sauce was ever so tasty.

My Dad went for a traditional moussaka which is one of his favourite dishes! His main included minced lamb layered with potatoes, peppers,  carrots, aubergine and courgette  topped with béchamel sauce and cheese melted. Again, this was a very generous portion and was also served with rice and salad and very filling; the perfect comfort food dish.

As we were so full from our mains we didn’t stay for dessert, but I will certainly be back again soon to try out more of Pasha‘s authentic cooking!

Pasha sounds awesome, I love Turkish food as well. I have to find a good Turkish restaurant somewhere in Melbourne!
