Here’s another Christmassy post for you! The last few days I have spent making these little things! I made these gingerbread biscuits using a BBC Food receipe and they come out perfect every time! I love gingerbread.. yum!
I bought some new cutters off eBay and decided to make a range of shapes to use as tree decorations. The most annoying part of these was the icing. What a pain in the bum! You have to make thick icing first to edge the biscuits, wait for that to dry, then ‘flood fill’ them them with runny icing, then wait for that to dry, then make up a different colour and decorate them! Sooo time consuming, it took me hours! However, I’m very pleased with the end result! I used a BBQ scewer to make the holes in the biscuits just after the came out of the oven whilst they were still soft. Then I used some festive ribbon to tie knots and bows onto them for hanging.
I decorated then using some sprinkles and balls that I already had, and I just randomly did the designs. I’m especially pleased with the snowflakes! They look really pretty. I wanted to incorporate blue into these as well but I just could not bring myself to make more bloody icing! So pink and white it is 🙂 I also tried out doing ‘stained glass window’ biscuits. To do this, just crush up a few boiled sweeties and put them in the centre of the biscuit when they go in the oven. So easy and pretty!
So here’s (a lot!) of photos of my very hard work! They’re now all over the tree and I’m quite proud of them 🙂 What do you think?

Aww, these are so perfect for Christmas! I love that you can customise them (and then eat them, obvz) ♥ Claire @ Jazzpad

I always want to try that boiled sweet thing in something but never get around to baking because my oven is rubbish.
Wow so good! Love these xxx
These are amazing! You are so creative. I wish I had the time to do this 🙁

These look fantastic! I always love the idea of making my own little edible decorations for the tree, but never seem to get round to it, maybe next year! I hope you had a lovely Christmas 🙂
