So last night as I was removing my make up I noticed that my skin was looking a little malnourished and uncared for, so I decided to try and give it a boost. I have a range of Good Things skincare products which I have won in the past, and also bought from Superdrug, and I have used most of them individually with good results. So I decided to use the products all together in a full Good Things facial pampering!
The thing I love most about Good Things products is that they smell amazingly delicious. They are full of fruity goodness, and smell wonderfully sweet and fresh. They use superfruits in their products, such as blueberries, mangoes and goji berries, which are gentle on the skin, and are specially formulated to work effectively on younger skin.
“Young skin needs gentle, regular cleansing and moisturising to keep it looking its best, and our products are designed to do just that. They are packed with wonderful superfruit extracts – such as goji berry and papaya – to give your skin an extra beauty boost too” – Alice Hart-Davis (developer).
According to Good Things, to keep young skin looking fabulous it should:
- To be kept clean – but gently, without using harsh products that strip out every scrap of natural oils
- To be exfoliated – with care, to remove dead cells that can clog the surface and make it look dull, not scrubbed to bits
- To be kept hydrated – with an appropriate moisturiser, not overloaded with heavy creams or mineral oils that can block the skin
The first part of my Good Things skincare routine was to cleanse my skin using the Fresh Start Creamy Cleanser. The superfruit ingredients in this includes grape and pomegranate (yum!). This made it smell very fruity and sweet which I like. It also contains mango-seed oil which helps to clean the skin without drying it out. To use, just massage into your skin and then remove with a hot flannel, or I used a muslin cloth. Also, by masaging the skin for 60 seconds helps boost the blood circulation. This cleanser worked well, and I felt that my skin was instantly boosted after using this. This retails for £4.99 for 150ml, which I think is very reasonable.
Next I used the Deep Clean Blackhead Exfoliator, which contains papaya and liquorice ingredients! It contains tiny microbeads which help to remove any dead skin cells. I was suffering from dry skin on my forehead, and after using this my skin was instantly smoother. It also helps to clear blocked pores and remove blackheads. The papaya extract helps to make your skin look more radiant, and the liquorice soothes skin. To use this, you just massage into wet skin in gentle circular motions, and then rinse with warm water. RRP is also £4.99.
Next up, I used the Five Minute Face Mask. It contains superfruits avocado and goji berry. It is designed by Good Things to make your skin clearer, brighter and smoother. To use, you simply smooth a thin layer onto your skin, and leave to set for five minutes. This face mask was nice and thick, and it was like a clay mask. As it dried, it became very firm, but still comfortable. To remove, you just rinse away with warm water, or with a flannel. It is a great way to quickly give your skin a boost, and it reatils for only £5.99.
Lastly, I used the Miracle Mattifier Moisturiser. I frequently use this because it smells amazing, and it always makes my skin feel very soft. The delicious smell comes from the blackcurrant and goji berry ingredients.
This moisturiser is different to others, because it doesn’t leave your skin looking shiny, as it absorbs any excess oil. It is formulated to give your skin a smooth matte effect, whilst still moisturising. To use, you simply apply to dry skin and smooth on gently. This costs £7.99.
Overall I love the Good Things Skincare brand, and they have a great range of products especially suited for young skin. They also have a bodycare range, which I look forward to trying on my next trip to Superdrug. It is also sold in Boots and Sainsburys.
