V is for Victoria (and Velvet) OOTD ♥

It’s almost Halloween! This isn’t a particularly spooky outfit, but it’s a little more gothic than I would usually wear. Although, velvet is one of my all time favourite trends, so I was pretty happy when autumn arrived so I could finally wear velvet again! It’s such a perfect trend for winter I think. This simple black high waisted velvet skirt from Karma Clothing has a flared shape and an elasticated waist, and I think it’s a must have for autumn/winter. It might also be making an appearance on Saturday night when I go out dressed as a cat!

At the weekend I wore it out on a shopping trip with a casual loose fit jumper and flat boots. The jumper just so happens to have a V on it, so I had to choose it when I was offered an item from Choies. It’s really comfortable and I love the boat neck cut and super long cosy sleeves! The flat Chelsea boots were sent to me from Mart of China, along with the black coat. I loved my Chelsea boots from Primark last year, but I’ve not seen them in stock anywhere this year 🙁 But these ones are only about £18 including shipping all the way from China!

I really love the coat, even though it’s a little bit on the small side for me (damn my broad back!). It has really cute little ruffles down the skirt of the coat, making it feel a bit more girly. I’ve never had a black coat before, and I don’t think I should.. Merlin has left cat hair all over it! Also, check out the cute little black bow ring, it’s only 91p with free shipping.. go, go, go! Finally, in case you are wondering why I look so windswept in these photos, Sunday was the start of the St Jude storm, and by heck was it windy!

This is a really nice look, I've been avoiding taking pictures outside because of the wind!

Aww you look so relaxed and lovely. 🙂 The jumper looks so snug and the V for Victoria is pretty awesome too. xD

I really want a velvet dress or playsuit for this autumn and winter, I would get a skirt but I'm not liking the look of them, sadly. 🙁

Your coat is super cute too!

You have such a unique and cute sense of style, love it. ^_^

I love the texture of this skirt and the proportions with the coat over it are perfect!
