I’m still in love with check prints this season. In winter I was all about tartan, and now I’m into gingham.. I’m totally obsessed! This is my newest check print dress which I was sent by Karma Clothing. It’s not a shape I would normally wear, but I quite like it now I’ve tried it. The shift dress style is actually quite flattering to my larger bottom half, and I like the length of the sleeves. Black and white is also a colour scheme I don’t often try because I prefer a splash of colour, but the pattern on this keeps it busy enough in monochrome.
It also has a cute little white collar to add a bit of detail. I’ve worn it to work a couple of times with opaque tights and ankle boots, and it’s perfect for this warm/cool weather when I’m not really sure what to wear! I also bought myself a new handbag from Urban Outfitters when I was staying on Oxford Street a few weeks back. I had a £20 giftcard that I won at Christmas so I finally got round to spending it, and this satchel really caught my eye.
It comes in a few different colours, and I was stuck between deep green or maroon, but I picked the maroon one at the last minute in the queue! It’s the front lock satchel, and it was in the sale for only £22, reduced from £38. I like it because it has lots of different compartments and a zip pocket on the outside, which I found was perfect for my tube ticket. Also the front fastening is a lock that you have to push down to open (which is a little tricky to start with) so I felt a bit more secure and protected from pickpockets etc on the busy streets of the capital.
