At the end of last week I decided to treat my parents to a takeaway meal, which is something we don’t do very often, so we were really looking forward to it! I think it’s always nice to have a ‘special’ dinner with family where you can all sit around at the table together, share food, and chat away all evening. I used the JUST EAT Android app to place my takeaway order, which was surprisingly simple and quick to use. I hadn’t placed an order on the app before, and as I live quite rurally, I was really surprised…

On the last day of our short break to the cottage near Stratford upon Avon, we took a short drive to The Cotswolds. We drove through some gorgeous little villages, but the final destination was Bourton on the Water, which is a little village in Gloucestershire. I used to visit it when I was little with my parents, and I remember we used to visit the little miniature village and I used to play in the river in the summer.  Obviously being the beginning of January it was freezing outside so we didn’t spend too long wondering around. But I…

Back in May I won a competition on Facebook for afternoon tea for two at the Double Tree Hilton in Westminster, London. I took my friend Leonie with me and we booked a date in November so we could also go to visit the poppies at the Tower of London before it got removed. We went to Tower Hill first on the tube and it was so so busy, but we joined the crowds and eventually managed to peer over a wall and got a couple of photos of the beautiful red sea of poppies. After this we got the…

For the Halloween weekend I went up to Manchester with Terri to see our friend Alex who has recently moved there. We’d made plans to spend the day shopping in the city centre, and we then had a table booked for lunch, before we went on a night out dressed up for Halloween. The day mildly went to plan, although I didn’t get too much shopping done. But I’d never been to Manchester before (bit too far north for me) so it was great to see the city and mooch around a bit.. the place is huge! As much as…

With the seasons quickly transitioning between autumn and winter, I often struggle for ideas for healthy meals. I love having salads or even sandwiches for dinner in the warmer summer weather, but with the cold dark nights drawing in, I want something hot and substantial for my dinner. Homemade soup is the perfect solution for a warm and fresh meal, and the options for recipes are endless! I’ve recently been experimenting with my new soup maker that I received to review from Tower Homewares. I love getting busy in the kitchen (oo-er) and trying out new electric appliances, although I…

After celebrating Liam’s pass out parade in Catterick up in Yorkshire, we decided to make a nice weekend of it. We were invited to stay at the Ox Pasture Hall Hotel for the night in one of their suites, which was perfect for a nice relaxing one night stay for the two of us. It’s located just outside of Scarborough, which was a little bit of a drive from Catterick but worth the journey!  Hotel It’s a luxury country house hotel, which we found was really warm and welcoming and the gardens and grounds are really nicely kept. There was…
