Something slightly different from me today… I was invited to the opening night of the Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat show at Milton Keynes Theatre last night! I remember going to see Joseph with school years ago when MK Theatre was still very new. I absolutely loved the show (so much so that I bought the cassette!) and even now I still find myself singing along to the catchy songs in the shower as they’ve stuck with me for life. I was really excited to find out that the show was returning to MK Theatre and thrilled to have…

I am proud to say that I was born in Milton Keynes and I even bought my first AND second home here, and I plan to stay here for the long run. It’s a really unique town – I absolutely love it here and I can’t imagine ever living anywhere else to be honest. I’ve been a Milton Keynes blogger for over 8 years now, and MK is sometimes mocked by those who have never actually visited – but there’s plenty more to the town than just concrete cows and roundabouts (although there are over 130)! Last month I was invited to The Black Horse in Great Linford, Milton Keynes to take an exclusive first look at their newly refurbished restaurant and stunning new interior. The Black Horse (probably one of the most well known pubs in MK) is a premium pub, bar, and restaurant located in an idyllic waterside setting next to the Grand Union Canal. The location is perfect for a refreshing drink, a quick bite to eat, or a delicious Sunday roast. They offer a great selection of pub food with a twist, plus a fantastic range of wines and drinks. I visited The Black…

I was recently invited to stay at Chicheley Hall, a gorgeous Grade I listed English country house just outside of Milton Keynes. The 18th century Baroque style mansion is home to 48 rooms, a restaurant and a bar all set within 80 acres of beautifully kept grounds. Its secluded countryside location offers the perfect respite from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Bedroom After checking in at reception we went to find our room, the Cartwright suite, which is part of the original Grade I listed part of the house. The suite is a stunning large room with solid…

Last month we went out for Gavin’s birthday dinner to a pub fairly local to us but one that we’d not been to before. The Wheatsheaf in Bow Brickhill is just outside of Milton Keynes and is part of the Heroic Pubs group who also run the Knife and Cleaver in Houghton Conquest, Bedfordshire. The pub underwent a substantial refurbishment last year and I was excited to visit after hearing so much about it! Although it looks like a cute little village pub from the outside, inside is actually a sleek and modern interior with an open kitchen and stylish…
