I haven’t done a DIY post in a while, so I thought I would show you what I made over the weekend. My make up brush collection has recently expanded so I’ve been looking for a new way to store my brushes in an interesting and attractive way. This project cost me literally nothing too!
I decided to get crafty with some old jam jars, and some pretty patterned paper. Then you need a pencil, rular and scissors. And that’s all you need!
Wash out the jars to ensure they are 100% clean. Then mark on a piece of the paper how high the inside of the jar is.
Then wrap the paper around the jar, and mark with a pencil how wide the jars circumference is.
The markings should then show you how you need to cut the paper to wrap it around the inside of the jar to fit. I used my pencil and rular to draw a straight line for where the markings meet.
I then cut out the length of paper using scissors.
Then I simply wrapped the paper around the inside of the jar, with the pattern showing outwards. No glue required! The paper simply curves into place and stays put. I used both a large jam jar and a mini jar I found.
The jars look super cute on my dressing table, and the mini one is perfect for putting cotton buds in, and the big one can be used to hold brushes, pens, or anything else! I love the vintage style of the old jars, and pretty patterns. You can customise them with whatever papers you want. I might mismatch them with different papers soon. I used free wallpaper samples for this DIY, which you can pick up from DIY stores or order online.
What do you think?
