Meg Rivers – Home Baking Book.. ♥

If you’re hungry for something sweet right now, I suggest you look away! This book is packed with delicious recipe’s and big full colour photos of baked goodies. This book is simply named Home Baking, and it is written by Meg Rivers. As I’m sure you all know, I love Cath Kidston, and even she says that Meg is her absolute favourite cake maker.

Meg Rivers’ interest in baking began as a child in the family owned teashop, she later started baking cakes for her children, using only natural ingredients. Friends and neighbours began asking her to bake cakes for them too and requests to send them as gifts overseas gave her the idea to turn her hobby into her career. Soon the business moved to a picturesque bakery in the Warwickshire village of Middle Tysoe.  Over the years the business continued to grow, and now serves thousands of mail order customers worldwide.

The book has so many amazingly simple recipies, it is a definately a staple for any budding or experienced baker. The book tells you how to make a range of classic cakes, loaves, tarts, and tray-bakes. Each recipe comes with simple step-by-step instructions on how to bake original recipies from Meg Rivers, and create a host of favourite sweet treats. The hardback book also includes huge full colour photographs of each finished cake, which are simply mouth watering. This cookbook is inspired by English afternoon tea classics, such as Victoria sponge, and fruit scones. 

The above are my absolute favourites which I must try! They look so delicious! And all made with readily available ingredients. The brownies look amazing! I think I will try the lemon drizzle cake first.
