Then once the group all met up again we headed to Rodizio Rico bar at the Mailbox for some free (very strong!) cocktails! The girls did a great job of organising this for us, it was such a nice relaxing atmosphere! After we all had a drink or two we headed to Red Peppers restaurant where we sat down for our meal. On the table were goodie bags prepared for us all! The meal was fantastic, I had such a fun time chatting to the girls and getting to know everyone, especially Gem who has such an infectious personality (in a good way!). I had some lovely food at the restaurant too, I went there on my first date with my boyfriend as we used to live round the corner from Red Peppers in 2009! So I was happy to visit there again, and I had a delicious goats cheese and red onion bread, and then BBQ ribs and chips for a main.

For dessert, I had a special surprise for everyone! I had actually made a nice big square cake as a treat for the whole group. The restaurant kindly brought it out to the table at the end of the meal with candles lit, and Gem took it around to show everyone, and then the waiters cut it up. There was more than enough cake for everyone and I think they all enjoyed it! It was a vanilla sponge with jam and buttercream, and I decorated it with pretty sugar decorations (including buttons!) and #Beauty Bloggers. It was the first square cake I’ve ever made and also the first time I’ve done proper writing on a cake. I was really pleased with how it turned out and so pleased with all the lovely comments! The lovely organiser girls even presented me with a lovely Cath Kidston spray flowers mug to say thank you.. the cuties!!
The goodie bag was also fantastic.. filled with lots of products from popular brands as well as new brands I hadn’t tried before. My favourite products were Benefit Fine One One, Revitalash, Rimmel Glam Eyes and a Xen Tan sample! There was tonnes more inside though.. thanks girls for such amazing goodies!!
Overall I had a fantastic day and it was definitely worth the struggle to get there in the snow! I loved meeting bloggers, old and new, and having a nice day and evening together. I’m so happy to be a part of such a kind and enthusiastic community! I never thought when I started my blog that I’d be meeting up with ‘strangers from the internet’ and them becoming such good friends of mine. Thank you all!
On the day it had just about stopped snowing after about 24 hours of full on snow. So I was a little worried about my train and whether the event was even still on! But Gem assured me it was so I decided to get an earlier train so I knew I would be there on time. I was also a little concerned about transporting the cake all that way.. but it made it! As it was snowy outside, I decided to wear my red Hunter wellies as well as my thick new Milanoo dress, and teamed it with a red belt and satchel. Oh and a lot of red lippy!
