I thought I’d do a little blog post about ‘where I blog from’ which is my bedroom desk/dressing table. And I’m also going to include some of my favourite bits of pretty stationery too because I’m a bit obsessed with it. My little white desk fits in perfectly between my mirrored wardrobe and my bed, and it has some handy little shelves down the side of it. It’s just from Ikea and I think it was only £35.Anyway on it is usually my big ugly laptop (soon to be replaced by an iPad!) as well as all the things in the photos. I have my lovely pastel pink desk lamp which was from Dunelm for around only £6! Have you ever seen a more pretty yet practical lamp?! And then next to that is that Moroccan lantern thing that was £3 from Wilko which I just fill with bits of paper and receipts etc for safe keeping! Then there’s that lovely little wooden box with a brass anchor on it which I picked up in an antiques store in Ely.
Next to that is my little collection of make up brushes and things in jars, which I customised myself using old jars and pretty paper (tutorial here). I don’t have many fancy brushes but I have a few favourites, as well as my favourite beauty products on my desk that don’t fit in my make up bag: Liz Earle moisturiser, Armarni fluid sheer bronze, Oriflame make up base, and Daniel Sandler blusher.
Below is my desk chair, that I painted and customised myself. It was a
plain bare wood chair from Ikea for a few pounds, and I transformed it
into something more my style to suit the rest of my room. I love wood,
it’s so versitile! There’s a little guide to how I did it here. The cushion was 50p from a carboot sale (can’t wait for spring to come so I can go again!).
Also along my desk is a large floral beauty bag which is just filled with eyeshadow palettes, face wipes, bulky items, as well as products I don’t use very often. Then I have a Cath Kidston mug filled with pens, a vanity mirror, a little floral box which contains cotton buds (with the lid on because Merlin loves to eat these!) and then my everyday make up bag.
Also how snazzy are these scissors?! They were £1.99 for the set from Dunelm haha I couldn’t resist them and they’re pretty floral pink-ness!
I was tweeting a few weeks ago asking if anyone knew of
anywhere to get a cute diary because I had appointments and cupcake orders coming out my
ears! I was thinking of getting a Cath Kidston one, but I’d had a
CK one for the last few years, so I decided to hit the high street and
see what I could find. But two weeks after New Years Day meant that a
pretty diary was nowhere to be found. I thought TK Maxx would be a haven
of cute ones as their items are so unique! But their stationery section
had been wiped of all diaries and calendars.
But as I was passing the
clearance shelf I found a few books and then found myself a diary! Danielle mentioned
that she had a retro pin up girl diary that was nice and small and
stylish, but I never thought I’d find the exact same one! There was only one diary, and this was it. A Gil Elvgren 2013 Pin-Ups diary! It has the most gorgeous imagery inside, with a whole page dedicated to a sexy 50’s lady every single week! I love it! It was reduced in the clearance for only £3! I also found on the same clearance shelf a stunning little notebook with a cupcake on for only £3 too! They’re both so pretty.
Here are some of my other favourite stationery bits and bobs. This writing set with bird pattern and cupcake little note set was given to me as a leaving present from my old work. So pretty! And then I have a bunch of blog business cards.

Everything on your desk looks so pretty! Bet it's a great inspiration for blogging. What sort of laptop do you have? I find blogging on my ipad quite tricky, I don't like the app very much and it's difficult to arrange photos so I still use my computer! Xx
