I just wanted to do a quick post to show you the chair that I now have in my dressing room. This wooden Welsh chair was my Mum’s but she let me repaint it because the wood was too dark to look nice anywhere. Now it’s been given a fresh new lease of life, and I think it looks lovely in it’s new home after it’s make over!
The solid wood was hard to paint with a paintbrush, so my Dad airbrushed it with white paint after I gave it a good sanding down. I love white furniture because it looks so clean and new, and I just find dark wood really unappealing! So I’m much happier with it now, and it looks lovely with a pretty cushion on 🙂 It sits in the corner of the room, and is currently being used to swing all my clothes over the top of, because I’m too lazy to hang them in the wardrobe (oops).
Also, thank you for all the comments you left on my dressing room blog post 🙂 Was lovely to read so many nice comments!
Also, continuing on with the DIY theme, check out the 1st birthday box I received from Crafty Creatives! You may remember a whole year ago when CC released their very first subscription box for crafters (check out my blog post here). If you’ve not heard of them before, Crafty Creatives send out monthly gift boxes to subscribers which contain an array of little craft items to make gifts with.
My new box went back to the floral theme (my favourite!) and included goodies in five little kits. Each kit includes all the products needed to make the following: stocking flower (which I made!), felt flowers, paper flower hair clip, crepe paper flower ball, and French beaded flower. I managed to make the stocking flower fairly quickly, and I was surprised it was so simple to make after following the easy instructions. Check out their previous themed boxes here.
The boxes make a much more fun alternative to beauty boxes in my opinion, and if you know someone crafty, a subscription would make a fab gift! Membership costs just £10 a month, plus £2.95 p+p.
And finally, I just wanted to share a couple of mentions that I’ve had ‘In the Press’. The most exciting one being Kirstie Allsopp sharing my blog on her Facebook page a couple of weeks ago! Super exciting, I got a tonne of views from it!
And secondly, my blog was featured in Making Magazine in March, but I forgot to post about it back then. Oops.
