I’ve not done a cake post in a while as baking has kind of taken a back seat lately. I’ve been such a busy bee! I haven’t taken many cake orders the past few months, as I was on holiday for Mothers Day, and away over Easter, and I’ll also be away for Fathers Day! So I missed out on quite a few special occasions. But I have got some willy hen party cupcakes booked in for July though! But here’s my latest bakes… I made this cake for my nieces 10th birthday. It’s a chocolate sponge with Kit Kat…

The weather is a little bit grim today, but yesterday it was nice and sunny! I spent the day with my family; walking to the new tea shop in our village for a slice of cake, then helping Mum decorate her Easter Figolli biscuits (I’ve uploaded a few photos below), and then went for a little bike ride with Dad on the new village cycle path. I had a sudden urge of boredom a few days ago, so I decided to do a bit of Easter preperation and make a few little treats. They’re just simple little things, they don’t even require baking! I made these Mothers Day cupcakes as samples to try and promote sales over Mothers Day, but then I realised I’m on holiday that weekend anyway so I won’t be able to take any cake orders.. oops. They’re so pretty though.. maybe my favourite cupcakes ever! I liked using a range of different shapes decorations and nice pastel colours. The simple white daisies with the yellow centres are my favourites! I…

Another little baking post for you! I recently made these ‘Thank You’ cupcakes for a university student to give to her lecturers; one male and one female. She didn’t specify any particular design, she asked me to do what I think would be best. I think I possibly went a bit OTT with the girly ones.. that’s a lot of pink! But she seemed to love them! The male one’s were a bit more of a struggle, you could use generic hearts, butterflies and flowers really. So I stuck with nice simple blue stars! Boy cakes are boring… But I…
